    Serie A Week 26 - 20/2/11 (11.30 UK)
    Lecce - Juventus
    Stadio Via Del Mare

Juventus will look to win three Serie A games on the trot for the first time this season when they take on Lecce.

The two sides meet at the Via Del Mare at Sunday lunchtime in a must-win game for the Old Lady if they are to push for a top-four finish. After losing consecutive ties against Udinese and Palermo, the Bianconeri have responded with victories over Cagliari and Inter.

Key to those two successes were Alessandro Matri, Andrea Barzagli and Giorgio Chiellini. Matri, signed on January deadline day, has now bagged three goals in three games for the Italian giants. Meanwhile, Barzagli, another new addition, has come into the centre of defence which has allowed boss Gigi Del Neri to field Chiellini in the troublesome left-back role.

Although the title now seems out of the question, Juve are within touching distance of fourth-placed Lazio given that they are just four points shy of the capital outfit. Momo Sissoko is suspended after his booking last week, while Leandro Rinaudo, Fabio Quagliarella and Armand Traore are injured.

Lecce have injury concerns over Alberto Giuliatto, Ofere and Nenad Tomovic, but they have been crushed by suspensions to Gustavo, Ruben Olivera, Jeda and Guillermo Giacomazzi after the 3-2 loss at Catania. The refereeing in that defeat angered boss Gigi De Canio to such a degree that his protests have seen himself net a two-match touchline ban.

The Giallorossi currently find themselves just outside the relegation spots – two points above Brescia – after a small revival which saw them collect nine points from a possible 15. However, back to back defeats against Palermo and Catania have highlighted that safety is still some way away.

Historically, Lecce have only beaten Juventus on three occasions in 35 games across Serie A, B and the Coppa Italia. Two of those wins have been at the Via Del Mare.

The last meeting here in December 2008 saw Juve win 2-1 with goals from Sebastian Giovinco and Amauri. The last draw here was in December 2003 when David Trezeguet netted late on, while Lecce’s last win was in September 1999 thanks to goals from Francisco Lima and Alessandro Conticchio.

Keep an eye on: Alessandro Matri (Juventus) – Having lost Fabio Quagliarella to injury, Juventus needed a new agile striker in January and Matri is that man. His debut at Palermo may have been nervy, but he’s been Juve’s match winner in their last two games.

    Last five in Serie A: Lecce (D D W L L) Juventus (D L L W W)

    Last season: Not played

Top tip: Surely this is an opportunity that Juventus can’t afford to throw away…

Stat fact: Juventus have won their last three Serie A meetings at Lecce, as well as six of the last 10.

Lecce (probable): Rosati; Donati, Fabiano, Ferrario, Brivio; Munari, Vives, Grossmuller; Di Michele, Mesbah; Corvia

Juventus (probable): Buffon; Sorensen, Bonucci, Barzagli, Chiellini; Krasic, Melo, Aquilani, Marchisio; Toni, Matri

    Ref: Mazzoleni

At least add an [R] to the thread. Don't wanna mess with all the Juventino's that like to sleep in Sunday and PVR the game and watch it right when they wake up. Nothing like browsing the web and hitting BS board and some BS guy forgot to R the thread hehe.

I guess the Lecce game is more pressure to Juve than Inter. Its really a MUST win even the gamblers agree.
