Do you happen to know which FB position they had him play? Looking ahead, Im somewhat worried about losing him to Netherlands down the road and RB position is really stacked between him, Perez, Lindsey, and Hoffman. Want him as involved and playing w/ the youth teams as much as possible which likely means LB

NL has nothing to offer him these days. And I'd say 4 prospects is not stacked, hopefully one of four pans out to compete with Yedlin and maybe Moore in the next 2 or 3 years

No, you're right, I'm just being overly sensitive in the wake of losing Gonzales. None of this is in my control anyways so not sure why I bothered mentioning it. Saying we're stacked at RB was def an exaggeration but having 4 strong prospects at a position of weakness for the NT feels good. I didn't mention him but '02 Scally is another RB w/ a lot of potential

There are also players like Cannon and Nick Lima who are getting minutes at a young age and could turn into NT caliber players.

I feel a lot better about RB than I do LB, tho I think George Bello has the potential to be our best fullback.

How quickly we all forget Xuxuh, who I still think is our best RB prospect.

Someone asked usaprospects if xuxuh was at Ajax and he replied "not yet" making it sound like he's signing when he's 18, could be misinterpreting tho

Really, it’s not because we don’t like his talent, but rather we have no idea if he’s even still playing or interested in playing for sure. Some people act like he’s just pulling a Sargent and waiting for his 18th birthday, but Sargent was still involved with a club and US soccer. Xuxuh has fallen off completely. At the very least, from the outside, it appears he has some attitude problems

Dest started for the U-19s in a 2-6 win over Vitesse, had a goal and assist each -

He looks really good on the ball. Looks pretty fast too. He's got a distinct dribbling style where he kind of knocks it in front and just chases it.

I still have no idea how this kid qualifies to play for the US.

    Birth? Parents? Fluke of law?

Born in the Netherlands, Dest has a background similar to many dual-nationals in the U.S. program. His father, a New York City native, served in the U.S. military and met his mother while stationed in Holland. Dest grew up in Europe but U.S. Soccer noticed him as he progressed at Ajax.

IMO one of the more underrated youth prospects. He was fantastic at the u-17 WC when healthy. At a position of need as well.

Yeah I agree with this. At the time, everyone wanted to talk about Gloster and Lindsay but he rarely made mistakes and was just consistent and solid.
