I don't think there is a set rule. I remember we got our other dual-national players from connections that were not part of USSF.

He talks about his father(short guy at 7:35), says he served for 24 years, fought in vietnam.
Explains how he came to the ajax academy and that he was never the biggest talent and that he struggled some years. Talks about what he is doing to improve on his shortcomings.

Talks about his experiences with the us youth teams.
At the end he shows us his local hangout where he plays/played with his friends.
Says his idol is ronaldinho and how he aims to become a unique player that cannot be easily replaced/missed.

    Seems like a nice kid!

Thanks for posting the link to the podcast interview. It’s really good. The interviewer mentions that he has fans in the US and Dest appears to be almost adorably surprised. Claims he doesn’t have Twitter so he doesn’t see that chatter, but he then unashamedly solicits new Instagram followers. After listening to this I feel like we should dish out praise via Instagram until he’s cap tied.

I don't think that Dest is our best RB right now or our 2nd best RB at the moment, but it a year he could easily be second and in 18 months, who knows, he may eclipse Yedlin by then. I really think it would be worth it to call him up to the group stage of the Gold Cup and let him sub on just so we can cap-tie him or do it in a nations league game, I don't know if we can cap tie him then.

In the segment where he was signing his contract, was that his mom and dad? Dad looks to be a big guy, if so, Dest may get bigger.

  14. And he's on a Dutch diet, so ....add another 10 inches:D

Idk if anyone shared this yet but I just found something about it on Instagram. Dest played with some street soccer player and has some nice tekkers. Also I’m almost certain I stayed in an AirBnB in the neighborhood they walk through in the start of the video.

Who would win if the whole pool had a 1v1 tekkers tournament?

Jong Ajax lost 4-1 away to RKC Waalwijk.

    Dest went the distance.

That must have hurt, considering he is part of the defense. What happened?

  21. They were out countered and within 12 minutes time span conceded 4 goals.
Ajax looked stupid. Far too eager to make the equalizer after the first goal and then got over run in the counters.

I watched the highlights twice. Dest was playing his customary RB not LB. Only 1 goal you could say was in his zone of responsibility but in reality, he was marking his man that moved, thus, pull Dest to the middle of his box, an opponent's midfielder came into the open space and fired a shot for the score, so an Ajax midfielder failed to read the play and come down to help.
