Lest we forget, he attended Netherlands U15 camps before joining the US setup.

If we lose Dest, I am going to need to take all of my FMLA leave and check myself into a recovery center for heartbreak.

There is good news from the past regarding the odds of him playing for the US. I'm not going to divulge into specifics but it would make a lot of USMNT fans happy :)

I've been very high on him since his time with our U17s and think he should probably be given opportunities with the senior team next year, especially given that he's a dual national whose stock is rising quickly.

He has a rare combination of technical skills and athleticism for our pool, and I love that he's getting a top-notch soccer education at Ajax. And like Sargent, he keeps producing every time he moves up a level. For example, as one of the youngest players on our u20 qualifying team, he completely shut down Llanez and made the tournament's Best XI. Then he gets promoted to Jong Ajax at the club level and makes the team of the week. A lot of positive comments about him in the Ajax fan forums as well. Bodes well for the future.

Sergino was last contacted by the Netherlands last year. He rejected the call-up. That’s why I personally think that he will play internationally for the US.

  18. By the way, Dest has Noussair Mazraoui ahead of him.
Unless this guy is being sold, Dest isnot going to take over his place.

If he's that good, Ajax will sell sooner or later

mazraoui is really good. one would think he'd be sold in the next 1.5years

and yea, no reason not to call him up in march. cannon and dest can fight over the rb spot if yedlin keeps turning in poor performances with the mnt.

  21. Frank de Boer is very familiar with his qualities and he has a Yank passport. The only problem that cannot be solved is the better/best players want to be in the UCL/EL.
So with FdB's take Atlanta will end up with players of the mid table section. Think it's better to look for good young Yanks.

  22. Probably. Dutch defenders are selling like hot cakes.

He's pretty much been promoted but still wanted to say that he'll be with Jong Ajax vs Jong PSV on Sunday morning.

Hard to believe Ajax had Mazraoui, Dest and Hoever all within roughly 4 years of each other.

Hoever looks like he’s going to be amazing. Glad he’s out of the way, at least.
