Well, here's the ultimate confirmation. Johan Gomez says goodbye to FCD :(
It'll be interesting to see where he ends up. We know he trained at Augsburg.

He turned 18 in July, so he can sign in Europe before the end of the transfer window.

There was no room for him at FC Dallas with Ferreira and Pepi ahead of him on the depth chart. This shows player production in the USA is starting to improve a lot when MLS teams have good prospects who can’t even get into the first team because there is too much homegrown talent ahead of them and they have to go elsewhere.

So what's the deal with Palomino? I thought he had Euro offers waiting for him after turning down a Dynamo HG deal. He turned 18 in May, so that's no longer an obstacle.

Only for Dallas it seems. There’s a lot of clubs that need to catch up.

Believe Harriel is signed to Bethlehem Steel

I think he came to Bethlehem on a amateur contract in an attempt to earn a pro contract but I don’t think he has gotten one yet.

I'll hold off on Harriel until I see confirmation -- I think I saw the same reports suggesting that he might only be an academy player right now. He was committed to Clemson before joining Philly's setup but clearly isn't there now.

The other two college guys have somewhat interesting pathways to pro soccer, which certainly matters in the context of making a hypothetical 2021 U20 team, since amateurs have long odds.

Schulte was with St. Louis FC. He's on campus now, but of course he could leave after the season (or whenever, I guess) if he chose to. MLS St. Louis is years away, so that doesn't seem to help much. His college bio says he trained with Feyenoord.

Boateng was with Sacramento's academy. I could see them trying to sign him. Maybe GA gets interested, or he looks abroad.

Penn State probably declined Shakes' release..but not sure why Fowler, Las or even Rando wasn't called up..

Fowler is an '00. It makes no sense to take Las away from the U-17 NT during the last camp of the cycle before the U-17 WC.

I don't think Shulte is a bad option for the back up spot, although Rando isn't a bad option either.

Did Rando sign pro contract? I don't see him on Stanford roster.

Not sure what the Zagreb Football Federation is exactly. Croatia’s version of Catalonia?

So it wasn’t the official Croatian youth team? I’m very confused.

When I read that tweet it made so little sense that I thought the tweet writer was trying to make a silly joke that nobody understood.

    Options I considered:

    1) The Croatian team was so dominated by Dinamo Zagreb that he joked the Croatian team was replaced by the Zagreb football federation. Which as far as I know, isn't a thing...………………

    2) The Croatian team didn't show up, but was replaced by a Dinamo Zagreb youth team. Hence he jokingly called them the Zagreb Football federation.

Or they had just one guy not from Zagreb on the team who suddenly quit.

Bottom line, ODP in Zagreb is too political.

Tessman is a bigger dude than many realize. Thomas Robers is listed at 5'11".
So Tessman must be 6'2" or so.

A text from a friend on this match against Zagreb. I’ve never seen anything like this

“Said they literally walked into the field, Tab included thinking they were playing Croatia. Admin from Slovenia tried to convince him it was Croatia. Unreal”

Hopefully this will teach other federations not to try to sneak "fake" teams past us if they don't want those teams to lose by a goal.
