http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/10/09/us-soccer-fifa-election-delay-idUSKCN0S31P220151009 The article speculates the reason for the delay may be to give Platini time to clear his name. I really, really, really hope it doesn't mean there is an opportunity for Blatter to return to office under the presumption of innocence if Swiss authorities can't find a smoking gun in the next 90 days.
Sounds too good to be true.... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/ar...Sepp-Blatter-leave-UEFA-chief-wilderness.html

The investigatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee has submitted its final reports containing requests for sanctions against Joseph Blatter and Michel Platini to the adjudicatory chamber chaired by Hans-Joachim Eckert. http://www.fifa.com/governance/news...ns-2734045.html?intcmp=fifacom_hp_module_news
way too funny... http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-11-27/fifa-donates-48-luxury-watches-to-charity/6980114 During a FIFA congress on the eve of last year's World Cup in Brazil, the Brazilian confederation (CBF) distributed gift bags with the watches to officials including members of FIFA's executive committee. The CBF initially said the Parmigiani watches were given to a group of 65 officials. After ruling they were unauthorised gifts, the investigatory chamber of the committee decided against opening disciplinary proceedings against the officials who returned it. "After contacting all potential recipients, 48 watches were returned to the investigatory chamber of the ethics committee," FIFA said in a statement, without mentioning if some of the watches were still missing. FIFA earlier said the Brazilians obtained the watches from sponsor Parmigiani for $US8,750 each. But an appraisal found the watches had a market value of $US26,600.
Exactly the 'tagline' that I was thinking of....just shows you how totally removed from reality Mr. Blatter is. My goodness -- it almost makes me feel a little sorry for him --- but only almost.
Back in the real world, the BBC are broadcasting a new Panorama programme tonight with Andrew Jennings' latest revelations about Blatter. Should be fun. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35007626
The latest... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sp...ch-headquarters-ahead-corruption-hearing.html Looks like he got roughed up a bit.
This guy is delusional... http://www.skysports.com/football/n...optimistic-over-fifa-ethics-committee-hearing
This ought to be interesting... http://www.espnfc.com/blog/fifa/243...alls-monday-news-conference-for-fifa-verdicts
That ought to be fun. He knows he's going down, otherwise why would the press conference be schedule for elsewhere in Zurich rather than at FIFA headquarters.
Blatter's rambling press conference lasted an hour and he defiantly proclaimed his innocence in multiple languages... http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...otball-after-eight-year-ban-for-a6781396.html http://edition.cnn.com/2015/12/21/football/fifa-blatter-platini-hearing/ http://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/22/sports/soccer/fifa-bans-blatter-platini.html?_r=0
Had to reference this -- in an interview (seemingly to pump his new biography) continues to assert he just trusted the wrong people. http://www.cnn.com/2016/04/21/football/sepp-blatter-fifa-interview/?iid=ob_article_footer_expansion I hope his biography is as successful as his movie. He also continues the message that this is an 'American' thing. In a recent panel discussion at the University of Basel, Blatter laid all the corruption at the feet of the 'Americans, North and South'. He is spinning a tale that will be reported, with bias in certain areas, that it's the evil Americans. Just as he mentioned in the article above the arrests were a part of the US wanting to 'police' the world. It's a message that plays in many areas and is one he now wants to use to hide the deceit of his actions and those of his cronies. What he avoids talking about are: The dismissal of Bin Hamman by FIFA. South Africa paying a $10M bribe The dismissal of Valcke (I find Blatter's quote in the CNN interview that he doesn't own a plane so duplicitous -- of course he doesn't own a plane, it's on FIFA's books - he just never thought he wouldn't have access to it.) The suspension of himself and Platini -- which he continues to state was a legitimate payment for a debt, without ever touching on why, as an executive, he hid that liability from FIFA for so long. The German investigation into the 2006 World Cup bid process. From what I can tell virtually every continent/confederation has been tarnished by the ongoing investigations.
Formal investigations by FIFA to begin on the salary and bonuses these guys paid each other. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...n-case-against-sepp-blatter-and-jerome-valcke From the article: (governing body being FIFA) A statement on the governing body’s website on Friday confirmed that Djimbaraye Bourngar, the deputy chairman of the investigatory chamber of the ethics committee, had begun formal proceedings against the trio. “The investigatory chamber will investigate possible violations of art. 13 (General rules of conduct), art. 15 (Loyalty), art. 19 (Conflicts of interest), art. 20 (Offering and accepting gifts and other benefits) and art. 21 (Bribery and corruption) of the Fifa Code of Ethics (FCE) in the context of salaries and bonuses paid to Mr Blatter, Mr Valcke and Mr Kattner as well as other provisions included in the contracts of these three individuals,” read the statement. So NOT just the $2million payment to Platini, but now their payments to each other. We knew this was going to happen, just wanted to note the formal proceedings.
Sepp Blatter loses appeal at CAS against 6-year FIFA ban http://www.sfchronicle.com/news/article/Sepp-Blatter-loses-appeal-at-CAS-against-6-year-10691705.php
Great quotes...my two favorite: Blatter said Monday it was "incomprehensible" that his version was not accepted "in spite of my testimony to the contrary and the testimony given by other witnesses. However, that explanation of a salary deal has now been doubted by three sets of judges at FIFA and CAS. and Blatter has acknowledged being advised by lawyers not to travel from Switzerland, which does not extradite its own citizens.
