Italy has a large African migrant population ( mostly from Senegal) who work as street venders selling stuff like socks and belts, so its a negative stereotype attributed to black people in Italy. You can argue about Lulic's intention (I don't think he's racist, just dumb like most professional athletes), but thats the implication drawn from his statement. Also Lazio apologized to Rudiger and the club.
They asked Lulic to apologize for racism and he said no because white people sell shoes and socks also. Good for him standing strong and not bending over to people who are offended by everything.
Rudiger has a big mouth. He mouths off every game so no pity for him. Although I see the subtle racism, it's more trolling than anything.
