His touch is actually amazing. Speed of thought is pretty good. Physical limitations: pace, strength.
There's a warrant out for Lucas Piazon's arrest (in Canada), a teammate of AN's.
Its a very serious legal matter, but it could help Andrija gain some minutes or get into the 18 more frequently, if Piazon stops playing football for Reading.
Actually 1.75 is closer to 5'8 but I agree he doesn't fit Arena's system too well maybe before Gerrard arrived he did but not anymore.
Oh, 5.83 feet. So 5'10", yeah. I didn't do the additional conversion. Still seems generous. Maybe he's got short limbs. That skews perception. But also makes you play smaller than your height.
If you can't joke about that sort of thing, it should make people wonder.
Stuff is usually going to happen, whether it is drops in form, injuries, sexual assaults, etc. Doesn't mean you're rooting for it to happen, but you gotta take your chance when it comes to you.
If it doesn't happen at Reading before the winter transfer window, I think he should suggest and take a loan. I love to play thousandaire matchmaker with our lads. I say he should go to Perugia in Serie B.
Piazon is the starting #10. I don't think AN would be a direct replacement, but it certainly could have ramifications with his place in the team as other attackers might move around if Piazon is sent back to Chelsea, and that could open up a spot at CF for Novakovich. Maybe some Reading fans could speak to how this could possibly affect Andrija.
I think I read that Piazon won't be turned over to Canadian authorities, but he will be arrested if he reenters Canada. Its now up to the FA and/or club(s) to deal with this further. Given the fact that there is enough evidence to arrest Piazon, I'd think that this is past the investigation phase and the Canadian authorities can conclude that this crime probably did happen. I don't know how this stuff is usually dealt with in English football, but if they deal with it similar to how its usually dealt with in American professional sports, Piazon will probably be returned to Chelsea and released by Chelsea.
Also, just my personal opinion, I think it'd be despicable to employ someone who there's an arrest warrant out for them in relation to a suspected sexual assault.
They're good in MLS and in an attacking system in LA where he's the 5th most dangerous attacking option at best. He gets a lot of space and time on the ball - a lot more than he would in the Premier League. I'm happy to be proven wrong, but he strikes me as the type who might struggle at a higher league level and at the international level, if he gets that chance.
Also, to the other response about West Ham and young players: Allardyce was the guy who worked all of those players into the XI. None of them were regular starters at the club when he arrived.
See Johnson, Adam and Evans, Ched for how it is handled. e.g innocent until proven guilty.
I'm agree with everything you are saying and quite sceptical about his high ceiling, but that's not due to his touch or vision but lack of athleticism. Bruce just found himself more skilled Magee Jr.
he actually doesnt get all day on the ball in LA. thats what makes him stand out, he can keep the ball under pressure.
Actually he did fit Arena's system very well. It's just that for this season Gerrard HAS TO (or should that be had to ) play.
Regardless of whether Gerrard matched the Galaxy's on-the-pitch needs or disrupted an already-winning side, the commercial and DP-management realities required that he play as a starter and Lletget (and others) make a mid-season move to a position which didn't quite suit him.
Arena will adjust the roster and his squad next season. If Lletget is still there (and I'd imagine he will be) we'll see a player in a better system that matches Gerrard to the Galaxy squad as well as the squad to Gerrard.
So uh...Where are those pro minutes that were a foregone conclusion for some?
All of them were established in the EPL before he became their coach. HUGE difference between them and having to trust a teenager to early 20's player out of reserves.
This was a timely article that came out today and comments from Lletget himself....
“Sam Allardyce came in and for four years just didn’t have me in his plans,” Lletget told ExtraTime Radio in June. “He always brought in so many players, so it was always difficult for a young player to break in.
It's especially hard to take you seriously here with your false equivalency examples and questioning Lletget's touch and speed of thought of all things. Once again, he does better in tight spaces, not worse. He came up as a CAM and people are suggesting he switch back to get even more out of his ability, which doesn't include him being a plus in the long speed and defense categories, yet still he's managed to be a pretty good winger for the Galaxy. He was stellar earlier in the season when he was playing closer to goal and could deaden the ball and make a quick move for a shot, or make a one touch pass to a teammate nearby in a dangerous area.
Reading have an exceptional record of progressing players from our academy to our first team, last season 6 former academy players managed 15 or more league games for Reading. Novakovich is currently one of those playerds trying to make the jump from the academy to the first XI. At 19 Novakovich is doing well to be as near the first team as he is and if he is good enough he will get the games.
Lol he better be circling back to give the guy who did most of the work some credit. Nice finish though.
Forward Andrija Novakovich played 75 minutes in Reading U21’s 2-1 defeat at Leicester City.
A season long loan to MLS for PT might be helpful (ducks)
Love the near post finish. Very Mueller-esque.
certainly would be a step up and not to far if at all a step down from championship
You don't need to duck.
I think it'd be helpful to him. Maybe he could use the Serbian connection with Paunovic in Chicago? Or are his ancestors Croatian?
Would he get PT in MLS??
I think it all comes back to the how good is Novakovich conversation. Does anyone really know?
