One of my favorite posters who posted multiple times a day on this and other forums. Until one afternoon when he suddenly quit and never posted again. I started to research it from various angles but after awhile TrickHog pointed out I was getting stalker-ish about it. TrickHog was right and I let it go. But my guess is that something happened to him. I don't think SoCalYid would have just suddenly quit without saying goodbye. I miss his "inverted winger" posts.
FYI— if I ever just stop posting here that means I’m dead so please have a nice eulogy for me then go back to complaining about whoever our coach is at the time. (I really hope that isn’t the case with SoCalYid — maybe we need to institute a buddy system here)
SoCalYid came across, in his posts, as a man I would have loved to share a beer with and think through the madness of this world. I regret, now, not having had taken the chance to communicate with him in person. I wish him the best, whether that is on the trail of dust of this Earth or in the great unknown that pulses underneath all we do....
SoCal watched a wider range of teams than any soccer fan I've every known. On BS I often read posts by fans who have oodles of insight to share about their favorite clubs as well as the better clubs and players in that league. Some, due to following a player's moves, become knowledgeable about a few different clubs and maybe a couple different leagues. But SCY somehow found time to watch games spread all over the Western Hemisphere, whether they be perennial powers or "who the hell are they?" bottom dwellers. IIRC emphasized South America, Serie A and EPL clubs but he didn't limit himself to the star teams or players. A typical SCY posts would read something like - "yeah, Birchall needs to play a more aggressive style of inverted winger, you know like Lucas Mineiro following his loan to Vasco de Gama." Hell he might have been making the stuff up as far as I knew. But I didn't care - I would just nod my head in agreement and bow in his general direction.
A little late coming to this thread. I'm "Foolish Ninja" It raises more questions than answers My real name pops up "irate ambassador". Even more questions
