    What a frustrating game.

Bolivia parked the bus and we have no clue how to break the bunker, Barrios is getting gang raped by 3 and 4 Bolivians every time he touches the ball.

The mid sucks today, but It's no surprise with Topo Caceres and tubby Ortigoza out there.

When is Martino gonna realize Topo is not NT material?? Please take him out and put in Riveros, also I hope Gaona Lugo comes in sooner then later.

    FT: Paraguay 0-0 Bolivia

Horrible game, Bolivia obviously came to practice how they are gonna bunker against Argentina and we had no clue how to break the bunker and just kept sending crosses that resulted in nothing.

Keepers: Don't know how neither Villar nor Barreto did considering how I didn't even see them.

Defense: Solid, all the defenders did well and where the ones that actually created the most opportunities to score considering all we where able to do where crosses and corners. Alcaraz almost got a goal but their keeper made a great save.

Mid: Estigarribia was good but not as good as the last game but can't blame him, he was being heavily marked. Ortigoza had some decent moments but was crap for the most part, Vera was shit, Topo was even more shit I saw nothing from him but losing balls, Gaona Lugo was good but was marked well so he wasent able to move as freely as he would like. Toro Acuna was great to see again but ofcourse he was just there to be honored.

Forwards: Roque and Lucas werent bad but really couldn't do much as they where being suffocated by the Bolivia defense. Santander was crap, and so was Osvaldito who to this day I still don't know why is being used as a forward when hes a MIDFIELDER.

All around an ugly game I would like to forget, we should have a more open game against Romania who I don't see bunkering.

    Good 1st half, terrible 2nd

Some of the younger guys where extremely selfish trying to score themselves rather then passing the ball especially Perez and Marecos. There was an occasion where Zeballos was completely open and Marecos decided to throttle the ball over the stands instead. Like come on, I know your trying to get a spot for the CA but you don't have to score to get noticed.

Atleast we're getting wins in these friendlies and have an idea who should be playing in the Copa America or not.

And congrats to Toro Acuna for his 100th game.

Noone really knows what lineup Martino is gonna field, he doesn't like to announce lineups until minutes before the game actually starts.

But I do think he's gonna field most of the starters with a few exceptions, as I know he's still experimenting new players such as Marecos, Piris, Molinas, Gaona Lugo so I expect a mixture of starters and newcomers.

Matter of fact, right now Paraguay doesn't really have a definite starting 11, I think the only true starters are Barrios, Riveros, Da Silva, Alcaraz, and Villar but I do think this game and the Copa America will point to what the starting team will be.

    ???

Osea que sur america por lo menos tiene 5 entre los top10? porque 1,2,3 de suramerica no son en este momento ni chile ni paraguay.

Me parece que esta subestimando a little too much a los europeos.

Jesus! Unbelievable the amount of chances we missed.

Roque is so useless, it looks like Santander is our only forward. We should have been up by atleast 2 by now if Roque actually gave a shit.

The official 23 Copa America list has been announced

    Arqueros:
    Justo Villar (Valladolid, España)
    Diego Barreto (Cerro Porteño)
    Roberto Fernandez (Racing, Argentina)

    Defensores:
Paulo Da Silva (Real Zaragoza, España)
    Marcos Cáceres (Racing, Argentina)
    Iván Piris (Cerro Porteño)
    Elvis Marecos (Guaraní)
    Aureliano Torres (San Lorenzo, Argentina)
    Darío Verón (UNAM, Mexico).

    Volantes:
    Cristian Riveros (Sunderland, Inglaterra)
    Jonathan Santana (Kayserispor, Turquía)
    Enrique Vera (LDU Quito)
    Édgar Barreto (Atalanta, Italia)
    Hernán Pérez (Villarreal, España)
    Víctor Cáceres (Libertad)
Marcelo Estigarribia (Newell's Old Boys, Argentina)

    Delanteros:
Roque Santa Cruz (Blackburn Rovers, Inglaterra)
    Osvaldo Martínez (Atlante, Mexico)
    Nelson Haedo Valdez (Hércules, España)
    Pablo Zeballos (Olimpia)
    Lucas Barrios (Borussia Dortmund, Alemania)

    F*cking terrible list,

All I can say is forget about winning the Copa America, we had promising players in Federico Santander and Gaona Lugo but not only do they NOT EVEN GET CALLED but instead we get stuck with the same ol shitty guys that can't perform.

If you think we're gonna win anything with guys like Osvaldo Martinez, Nestor Ortigoza, the tired and worn out Santa Cruz, and the Caceres brothers then your out of reality.

We MIGHT get lucky and maybe pass the group stages but that's as far as we'l go.

    Thanks Martino

    Guys:

sorry if this has been discussed already but I was wondering why Benfica's Cardozo was left out of the final Copa América squad?

Thanks in advance for any info.

    He sucks thats why ;)

Ok seriously tho; Santa Cruz, Barrios, Valdez are all ahead of him and Martino has been keen on Zeballos lately so he got the nod so there was simply just no room for Cardozo.

Most people in Paraguay are happy with Cardozo not going to the Copa America.

    Thanks, LP.

In addition to all that, wasn't there some sort of disciplinary issue as well? I remember vaguely hearing something along those lines.

Villar has been absolutely horrible in the Copa America, maybe it's time for the old man to hang his boots.
