Oh, we (Hong Kong) are Paraguay's next friendly opponents. Looking forward to seeing you in the Hong Kong Stadium. My guess is Hong Kong 0:4 Paraguay, but I am hoping we can get a goal.

I'm bored with no Soccer activity for the National team, but I'm not looking forward to another horrible performance in a friendly game.

19 year old who recently signed with Toulouse in France, he played for the U-20 team at the U-20 World Cup.

Have yet to see much of him but from what I hear he has alot of potential.

Easiest group in the Copa America.

There would be no excuses if we can't make it out of the group.

    Hong Kong 0-7 Paraguay

    4' Santa Cruz
    30' E.Barreto
    32' Santa Cruz
    46' J.Ortigoza
    54' J.Ortigoza
    74' M.Riveros
    90' C.Riveros

It was obviously men against boys out there, Hong Kong looked like a bunch of kids trying to get the ball, I don't even have a real analysis, since Hong Kong was so bad everyone looked like world class.

Atleast they should get some good confidence from this scoreline.

It might get moved to February 9 because Dec 21 is not a FIFA date and Martino wants to call up the top players.

There are rumors that Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are keeping close eyes on Haedo Valdez.

Without a doubt if he keeps up with his performances, he's bound to go to a bigger club. in Spain, he's already pretty well known over there with his (called back) goal vs Spain, 2 goals vs Barca, and overall performance in the league.

congrats to libertad on winning the 2010 paraguay clausura!

in other news, salvador cabanas is going to the court of arbitration of sport because he says America owes him in 1.3 million euros because the attack happened because he was defending his club...i think this is kind of ridiculous, no?

I think he is taking bad advise in every step of the way, He should have never left Mexico for his rehab if he was closed, the team would have at least payed his medical bills and give him a severance pay, He should be suing the owners of the nightclub not the America and not to even mention that his manager took all his money, It's pretty sad that this guy was on top of the world and just like that everything was taken away from him.

Re: Seleccion de PARAGUAY- Rumbo a WC, Part III

I'm pretty excited for the Copa America, we have alot of new players coming up and the CA should be a clear indicator of what the team for the qualifiers should be.

I do think Santa Cruz has something left in him, his lack of playing at City has hurt him and hurt us at the WC (Screw you Mancini) but he's still a top striker as he showed with Blackburn, if he does go to a smaller team and gets regular playing time he'l could be very usefull for the CA and WCQ.

I predicted a team I would like to see at the CA.

[LINEUP-4-4-2]Haedo, Barrios, Camacho, Molinas, Riveros, Vera, Roman, Alcaraz, Da Silva, Veron, Villar[/LINEUP-4-4-2]

It was tough choosing Roman over Morel but we need to start looking at the future plus overall Roman seems to be a better player all around as he can not only defend, run, but also knows how to score.

Putting Molinas and Camacho there seems risky but I really like what I seen from the both of them in the past friendlies, they both provide speed and skill to the mid something that we have lacked for a very long time in that department. And while they looked good they where also playing NZ and Hong Kong, if they can continue to show those qualities against much tougher teams in the CA then it will show that their ready for the qualifiers.

I also can't wait for Gaona Lugo to recover, he was supposed to get called up for the HK friendly before getting hurt but hopefully he can get called for the pre Copa friendlies so we can see what he could do.

If Roque goes to another team in January, he can be a good player for Copa America, just remember last Copa America he was unstoppable, as for the team, I think that sounds pretty good except Molina which am not a big fan of and I don't know much about Camacho.

Recanate trying to do big things with Olimpia, he has a list of 12 players he wants to bring in including Fabian Carini, Enrique Vera, Arevalo Rios, and Jose Ortigoza

    http://www.abc.com.py/nota/recanate-negocia-con-12-jugadores-entre-ellos-un-mundialista/

I highly doubt he'l be able to bring them all but if we can get half of those players I'll be happy, I'm also hoping "El Tanque" Ferreyra stays, him alongside Ortigoza would be a great duo.
