    FT: Athletic Bilbao 1-3 Paraguay

    11' Cardozo (PAR)
    21' Santa Cruz (PAR)
    41' Cardozo (PAR)
    80' David Lopez (AB)

Nice to see Tacuara and Roque get on the scoresheet but we gotta see how they do against stronger opposition.

And a nice little dedication to Cabanas :)

That was a pathetic game though, we can't judge the team by this win, we played against subs and kids, this is an embarrassment for the LPF, this is what happens when we don't take games seriously now we can't get anybody to play against us.

Actually we got 3 more friendlies coming up against some decent teams.

vs South Africa in Asuncion on March 31

vs Ireland in Dublin on May 25

vs Ivory Coast on May 28

vs Greece in Switzerland on June 2

And no that first one wasn't a typo, we actually have a friendly AT HOME :eek:[IMG]

There is a lot of fuss going on about this kid Juan Iturbe, he is supposed to be really good, now a lot of big teams are fighting for him, now they won't let him leave the country his situation is pretty much a mess anyways he is 16 he supposed to be a future crack but it turns out he was born in Argentina his mother crossed the border to get better Health care and if he turns out to be the next Leo messy, we won't get shlt out of it even though he is as Paraguayan as it gets .

We might have an interesting group of players vs South Africa, from what I hear Tata is also calling up Nestor Ayala and Federico Santander, Federico Santander is also another one that went to Egypt with the U-20 and is supposely very good, Tata said he's our future "9" I don't know about that now but I do hear great things about him.

Also, Cristian Riveros could be close to signing with Sunderland.

I also never seen this kid Iturbe play, but I feel sorry for him, not letting him go to Argentina he is not a slave...but also he´s got a lot of people traqcking him just for the money, should a 16 years old boy be the responsable for the future of his family in Europe?

and also heard about Santander, yes Martino said that he´s surprusided by the fact that he is being proved in Tottenham, he thinks that he actuall club (Guarani I think) shoukd take best care of him... both santander and Perez are interesting players, also Huth of the sub 20 I think.

After spending some time in Paraguay last year, I say F@ck'em I seen 4-5 year old kids being responsible for bringing food to their tables by selling candy and roaming the streets, Iturbe is about to get 1 million $ next week plus another 1 million to get cerro Portenio off his back, After seeing so much hardship from kids younger than him and with no hopes of getting better them, I'm sorry to say it but I don't feel sorry for him, I think he should just toughen up and deal with it.

Tacuara is on a tearing streak, top scorer in Portugal and current 2nd top scorer in the UEFA cup, not to mention he's getting a shitload of experience playing all these games.

With Cabanas most likely missing the WC and Roque being a pansy, Tacuara might be our guy at the WC he may have sucked at the qualifiers but lets face it he never really got alot of chances and he's only getting better.

Tacuara scored yet again today in Benfica's championship win, he also finishes the season as the top scorer with 19 goals in 22 games.

He's bound to get offers from even bigger clubs, altough I wouldnt mind if he stayed at Benfica.

Roque also scored today in Man City's win vs Fulham.

Squad for the friendly vs South Africa

Arqueros: Víctor Centurión (Tacuary) y Joel Silva (Guaraní)

Defensores: Carlos Bonet (Olimpia), Paulo Da Silva (Sunderland, Inglaterra), César Benítez (Cerro Porteño), Julio Manzur (Olimpia), Pedro Benítez (Atlético Mineiro, Brasil), Aureliano Torres (San Lorenzo, Argentina) y Blas Cáceres (Olimpia, Paraguay).

Volantes: Marcos Riveros (Nacional), Osvaldo Hobecker (Rubio Ñu), Jorge Moreira (Libertad), Jonathan Santana (Wolfsburgo, Alemania), Rodrigo Rojas (River Plate, Argentina), Hernán Pérez (Villarreal, España), Néstor Ortigoza (Argentinos Juniors, Argentina) y Marcelo Estigarribia (Newell’s, Argentina).

Delanteros: Néstor Ayala (Tigre, Argentina), Guillermo Beltrán (Nacional) y Rodolfo Gamarra (Libertad).

I really like this squad, alot of young guys with a shitload of potential such as Rodrigo Rojas, Hernan Perez, and Rodolfo Gamarra.

I'm also happy to see Nestor Ayala back, he's a dynamic player who deserves a better look.

This should be a small peek at our future players.

Goddaammn it!!! not him again, I hope he is not as bitter as he was in 06 , damn that fat bastard!!! well thank goodness we have Justin Tv and other ways to watch the games, I can't take another world cup listening to La Torre de Jalisco + Chilavert together, la torre is bad enough but U add a hater like chilavert to the mix and it is unbearable.

It seems that Edgar Barreto will miss the World Cup, on the other side Lucas Barrios from Dortmund has just obtained the paraguayan nationality. Another argentinian in Martino´s squad?
