Day and night difference. This looked like another team, HUGE IMPROVEMENT.

    Sorry Keylor.

The main difference was that we played it like it was a qualifier. Shades of Almeida's team tbh. And even then they created at least 4 clear chances, if it wasn't for Hagen lo perdiamos.

Talking about Hagen, que Keylor ni que putas, bien el patojo. He still needs to work on coming out in the air si quiere salir de Guate. The rest tambien me gustaron. Gallardo bien en aire y en salida. Pinto was good en los relevos. Tato was good too but I'm still not convinced. Cincotta me gusto but dude needs to stop losing the ball in dangerous places. Yanez was good defensively but going forward, I'd like to try a more offensive player. Saravia bien, Moyo tambien, el unico que la pone al piso y hasta mas rapido lo vi. We can't keep depending on him though. Hay que probar a Chema.

Los de arriba, I like their sacrifice and intetion even if the execution was poor at times. Salama se mueve bien but he needs to be more consistent. Galindo grew throughout the game but got gassed out after the 60th min. Finally, if Vargas had better decision making and a little more technique, he could be a key player. Lo que mas me gusto de el fue cuando le grito "Tico hijoela gran puta" a Matarrita.

Finally, Amarini made the right choices. However, if he's to continue , i wanna see him how he does away from el Mateo. Cause let's be honest. We tend to overperform at home.

I know that it’s a friendly but this win should be a confidence booster to the team since CR is still top 3 In CONCACAF. Good way to shake off that loss to El Salvador.

Anyone watching the game against Anguila for the Nations League tomorrow? O ya nos vale verga? :D. I feel we've all become incredibly apathetic tbh.

    Starting lineup acccording to LaRed

Hagen; Robles, Pinto, Gallardo, Yanez; Saravia, Galindo; Ceballos, Vargas, Santelliz; Flaco

I'm already losing faith in Amarini tbh. Si no golean...

The Dominican Republic game is all on Amarini. Dude put 2 defensive mids and didn't allow the fullbacks to bomb forward. Supposedly he learned, cause he's only playing Saravia and he addressed the fullbacks problem in an interview i watched.

Eso si a Anguila se le tiene que golear. They're the worst ranked team in the FIFA rankings if im not mistaken. And youre right, que bajo hemos caido

    Highlights

    Positives: Se gano

Negatives: Flaco hasn't been the same since the injury and now I'm afraid he'll go the way of Hernan Sandoval :(

Yanes, Santeliz, and Martinez alll looked really bad IMO. Some really bad 1st touches from all 3. Santeliz played/dribbled too much and caused him to missed opportunities for shots.

Galindo has been a stud in our games. Good touch, good vision and ideas. Really like him in our attack. Ceballos, Robles had solid games, Saravia was jusht "meh" IMO.

Guerra and Mata brought a great attack and different look to the attack. Really good opportunistic players.

Was good to see some passes in the box tratando de triangular which we dont do much of, so at times we looked confused. But nice to see better dept of play in our attack then 90+ min of cross after cross after cross.

Some faster play and passing made for a better attack, which is better than the usual holding of the ball waiting for players to come up from the mid.

Idk if I completely agree dude. Yanez was good in the 1st half, even if he made basic mistakes like his ball control. He was the only one doing any damage with Chucky, even if they fizzled out in the 2nd.

Pelon Robles on the other hand, was bad in the 1st half but completely redeemed himself in the 2nd. I have high hopes for this kid tbh. If nothing changes, he should be the starting RB for the next 10 years.

Flaco I'm starting to worry he wont ever be the same after his injury :(

Galindo was MOTM. But he still needs to get his fitness in check. Our other rivals won't give him as much time or space on the ball.

Ceballos looked a little lost in the 1T which is due to Amarini playing him out of postion. En el 2do jugando por la banda se vio mejor (even made Robles improved)

Saravia I agree. I've been pointing out how he keeps losing the ball during the buildup even if the other team isnt pressing. He's done it against everyone except Costa Rica, Paraguay & Nicaragua. Which coincidentally had Moyo being the one in charge of starting the buildup. So Amarini needs to play him next to someone with those characteristics (Chema, Barrientos, Marquez)

I've always liked Matta. His playing style is similar to el Cuilapa's

Guerra is good against minnows. Against everyone else he's terrible

And i agree but we need to be more dynamic. We're too slow and against better teams we won't be able to get away with such slow transitions.

ELO has 544 games listed for Guatemala, and it was the first time Guatemala scored or allowed 10 goals. The previous high was 9 in a 9-0 win hosting Honduras in the first game ELO has on September 16, 1921; a 9-1 loss at Costa Rica on July 24, 1955; and a 9-3 win hosting St. Vincent and the Grenadines on September 6, 2016. However, Wikipedia says your first international was a 10-1 win hosting Honduras on September 14, 1921, which is 2 days before the first game ELO has for you. Either way, 10 is your biggest margin of victory. The USA's biggest margin of victory is 8-0 hosting Barbados on June 15, 2008.

Yes! We now have the opportunity to qualify to the Gold Cup. I believe it's a playoff versus a team from the B league. I'm not sure exactly how it is.

It's 2 playoffs basically. First we play a 2nd place from League B. If we win, then we have to play a last place from League A.

We should be able to best any of the 2nd places from the B League. After that, it will depend who we get (Haiti, TyT, Cuba, Bermuda). I don't think we can beat this Haiti, TyT and Bermuda we're close. Cuba seems to be the weakest.

So the Guatemalan FA scheduled this friendly because the opponent is ranked higher than us.

    Here's today's result for 11/21/2019.

The 4th, 5th, and 6th goals are worth watching.

The Gold Cup's playoffs draw is in. We'll play Monserrat & Cuba (if we beat the former). In theory we should have "no problem" qualifying. The only challenge I see is that we'll play both second legs away from home. Not to mention that Monserrat knows how to bunker and Cuba has always know how to make ours lives a living hell :(

I don't think El Salvador is a good parameter. This is the same team that lost to Dominican Republic.

Yea but you can't underestimate them. I guarantee any margin of victory over them won't be more than 2 goals. They're scrappy

I have faith that we won't struggle against them at home. Guatemala tends to be very strong at home.

Guatemala tends to suck away though. If we build a good enough lead we should be good.

If the Guatemalan FA was smart they would schedule these games at a high altitude stadium.

Estadio Marquesa de la Ensenada, elevation 7,868 feet above sea level.

Estadio Mario Camposeco, elevation 7,640 feet above sea level.

Guatemala City is a little high but not enough to make a difference IMO. 5,000 feet above sea level.

We have the best weather in CA thanks to this, it doesn't get too hot and no humidity.
