Our U17 team have won the Suwon Cup as they prepare for World Cup U17 in october. They lost to Nigeria and beat Croacia and South Corea. http://africanfootball.com/news/565557/Eaglets-finish-third-at-Suwon-tourney
I've read in Dailymail this article about Kenedy (19 ya). A few months after paying 10 millions of euros, they are considering it was a bargain. I hope to see him in RIO2016. "Sources close to Kia Joorabchian (left, with Chelsea's Willian and the player's wife Vanessa Martins) say that Kenedy could prove to be the best player that one of football's most powerful men has ever worked with" http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...display-6-7m-fee-Brazilian-looks-bargain.html
Kia is delusional. Kenedy played like 5 games for Flu and somehow managed to move to Chelsea and not get loaned out. He looked good the other day because Chelsea were playing a Serie C equivalent team. I'm not saying he isn't talented though. I've heard about him when he was with the u17s. He could very well make it. I think if he continues to do well, he'll definitely be at Rio. I don't know if I mentioned it but it seemed like Micale/Dunga called up a bunch of the u20 World Cup kids to the Olympic squad last month. Kenedy wasn't in the WC squad nor was he a first callup but he did come when someone had to drop out.
Our u23 team. Dunga called up Gabriel Jesus, Kenedy, Gabigol and Valdívia (from Internacional) to play Haiti and Dominican Republic in october (8 and 12). We will be strong in Rio2016. The 3 above 23 that i would call: Neymar, Jerferson ou Grhoe and Marcelo. http://globoesporte.globo.com/futeb...sao-novidades-em-lista-da-selecao-sub-23.html
that's the kind of video that makes me feel optimistic about our future in football. All 10 skillful players. I hope to see at least 2 of them in Russia 2018:
U23. We beat D. Republic yesterday 6 x 0. G Jesus, Valdívia, Fred, Gabigol played nice. Kenedy did not perform well. João Pedro (RB) played nice too.
U23. We beat Haiti yesterday 5 x 1. Again G. Jesus, Gabigol and Valdívia played well. And agaim Kenedy don't. I'm sorry for Kenedy. D. Republic and Haiti played their A team against our U23 team and the result (6x0 and 5x1) showed they have a long jurney to be a power in football. I'm sad for them.
I wonder if playing versus teams of such level is really useful for us? Could help on building some confidence and maybe even a bit of chemistry, but when the oposition is so weak...
We've always done this though, even at the pro level. I rather them do this than what they did last cycle for the Olympics.
I'm just glad to see the u23 getting games in and practices together. I honestly would have watched one of these if they were on tv here, I really like a lot of the players.
Haiti actually frustrated us for most of the first half. After we got the second goal before the half, it was all over.
I have hope for a lot of the u23 players that have been called up. I think they're more talented than this generation. It just depends on how they choose to go about their careers.
I'm not entirely sold on him. He can disappear for stretches, which is normal for a youngster. He's more of an attacking midfielder than a creative 10, and we already have a bunch of those at the moment. I'd like to see more of him before I give a final opinion on what he can become.
Trivela had a short article questioning the need for Dunga to take over the Olympic team given Micale has done a good job with the U-23 squad. Why would CBF replace Micale with Dunga given the former has had good results and the latter has no interaction with the players?
They shouldn't. CBF clearly hasn't learned from the last Olympic debacle when Mano focused on getting ready for the Olympics rather than preparing the main national team for 2014.
I thought they were working together? Either way, its best for Micale to be #1. He has done very well with the sub teams and I can see Dunga undoing a lot of his work at the Olympics if its just him as manager.
