Ya and in 2011 it was a final to Brazil in extra time, 2015 to Brazil again in a quarterfinal shootout and in 2007, it was to Chile in the round of 16 for losses to South American teams at the U20 World Cup.
Aside from João Filipe, I really liked Florentino (very classy player), Trincão, DOmingos Quina (today a little less instrumental than usual), Thierry Correia, Ruben Vinagre and David Carmo.
I’m not sure if this has been said but this generation is the first in UEFA history to win both the 17s & 19s. If they manage to win the u20 World Cup they would have to be rated as one of if not the best youth team of all time.
Wow we won this competition with our B team. No Joao Felix, Gedson Fernandes, Diego Dallot, Rafael Camacho, Rafael Leao. What's even more impressive is we still had players on the bench who looked impressive as well.
when he makes it to the NT Ronaldo has to have his kid come out for the anthems to do a similar picture
So, who on this team is ready to make an impact on the mens senior team in time for the Euro 2020? in your opinions..
Nobody, none of our standouts were even on the squad. Maybe Vinagre he's a LB and we are kind of weak there and David Carmo very tall CB.
Agreed. Our B team beat Italy. Crazy depth! Santos may be our only problem going forward, he needs to take more risks. I don't like his style of coaching either.
Portugal has been the better side so far. A few players have shown great skills. This Italian side looks talent-less.
I had a devil of a time before going to the UEFA.TV app because I thought it was on the UEFA YouTube page. Nice skill and athleticism from the Portuguese. Not many chances, but the last 20 minutes were a lot better and the goal from that first corner (which was created by the first shot) was timely. I can't tell if the Portuguese GK is short or if he just looks short because he's so solidly built.
