Yes, plus I did watch about 30 minutes worth of the France vs Ukraine match and even before the red card it was obvious France was the more gifted team but as we all know, first games are often a learning experience and France has definitely adjusted.
The starting team st the u20 wc next year could be up there with the best team we’ve ever produced at that age group. Costa,;Dalot,Leite,Quieros,Vinagre;Gedson,Quina,Félix;Neto,Leao,Jota With Florentino, Gomes, Trincao, Correia, Thierry, Miguel Luis on the bench. Serious depth!!! This is without calling some of the scary talent from 00 and in particular 01
It is an impressive squad, indeed, although they are still at a very early stage of their careers and most of them will probably not live up to the promise and have modest careers, just like it happens with every generation. That being said, a handful of these youngsters are Senior NT material, no doubt about that.
I don’t think anyone would expect all of them to make the grade but I honestly think we could have 6 gain senior caps and 3 perhaps be important members of the senior. Last World Cup we’ve got Gelson, Andre Silva, Rony Lopes and Guedes from 2015, if we got that many from this generation that would be amazing
Most likely 1-3 players from a good youth side will eventually make their way to the senior squad. And maybe 5-7 total will be capped at some point throughout their careers. The U21 side that made the final bore the most fruit so far.
Norway beat England 3-0 in the 5th place playoff for the last World Cup spot Seems group A may of been stronger than everyone thought
I hope Rafael Camacho is on this team next summer at the Under 20 World Cup. He's been getting a lot of playing time in the Pre-season for Liverpool and looking really good. Just turned 18 years old in May. Got an assist for Mohammed Salah's goal yesterday in Liverpool's win over Manchester City.
Brilliant. This team is very prolific, and has been since the under 17 title. Portugal has made it to under 19 finals several time but has failed to win the decisive game every time. Hopefully this time around the tide changes. Though very talented, I hope these youngsters don't get too confident before the final and remain hungry for goals.
I didn't see the game, only read the match report and saw some highlights. He came on in the 62nd minute and received a 7 rating, which is quite good. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spo...liverpool-ratings-mohamed-salah-back-14953379 I saw him start a game last week, where he scored a goal, was Man of the Match and received a 9 rating. Jurgen Klopp really rates him, calls him Football Joy. Article on Camacho in the Liverpool Echo today. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spo.../who-rafael-camacho-liverpool-player-14955285
The U19s have scored 13 goals and conceded 4 in the four games thus far, including the 3-2 loss in the opener after being down to ten men for 80+ minutes.
Joao Felipe on the big semi final win. The boys english is pretty good! https://www.instagram.com/p/Blsvln6ATJn/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=c5e41vaz0ik9
considering Finland put in strong performances it's not crazy to think the top 4 teams were all in Group A
