Since our participation in the Copa America concluded on Saturday, I figured now would be the time to open this thread so we can continue our discussion on a number of issues affecting the Seleção.

I want to see some experimentation at the number 9 position. Someone one who can hold up the ball is the number 1 skill i'm looking for but it would be nice to have someone who has a presence in the air, which is hard to find in this player pool. A CF/number 9 is almost an automatic play in how I view the game even with the bad options.

I'd consider calling him... Especially if he hits really good form with Flu. Just how bad the situation is at the moment.

Well, if its any consolation, you're not the only one struggling to find a striker. The German NT has struggled for almost a decade with it, and it was covered up by Miroslav Klose for a while. It's gotten so bad that even our youth teams are playing false nines.

Why Dunga didn't select a B squad as he said Copa America is a non-value competition?

Form and play aside, I think if we called him up, the media, etc. would instantly create a circus because of what happened at the WC. I have a hard time seeing him ever returning.

Our midfield can't create, Fred return would be useless. We need to fix the midfield first.

Any ideas on who you could bring in? I think Oscar in a three-man midfield paired with Gustavo and Fernandinho/Elias/whoever else wouldn't be terrible.

Oscar, Gustavo and another technical midfielder. Elias and Fernandinho have proven to not be good enough. We have to find someone or Dunga should converts someone for the time being. I'm almost tempted to see Dunga give Hernanes another chance for the short term.

Robert Kenedy should be tested now. That goal against Venezuela gives me hopes that the "presidential" may follow the steps of the Imperador (in terms of playing style).

@Mengão86 - I think Oscar can work deeper, but more likely as either part of a 3 man midfield or if you have wingers who're very willing to track back. If Neymar's playing on his side, for example, he'd get overrun. It's possible, but not in all situations. The same way we fielded Fabregas as part of a pivot sometimes, but other times as a #10.

I believe that he was injured. He would have helped the team.

Ramires is no better at passing and distributing the ball than Elias is. The midfield still struggles.

I'd take Elias over ramires if the pairing is with Luis Gustavo for sure.
