I see on your My BigSoccer page where you can see rep you have received. Is there a way to see the rep you've given? I have had a couple of posts on my wall asking me to justify why I gave the rep I did, but by the time those people posts I've long forgotten.
I vaguely remember some very brief period of time where you guys turned that on. After one of the upgrades, there was a few days or week where the rep given list was turned on.
I think someone else mentioned that but I must have been sleeping that day - perhaps it's a feature we could turn on but not sure we really need it?
I remember the brief period of seeing rep-given as well. Of course we don't need it. But your users are asking for it.
okay, so i was ignored rollover reps? you dont use your daily seven reps, they rollover to the next day doooo it
ok forget my second suggestion but i still want to see all the reps ive ever been given, doo it ill pay for that
Dooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo it! Dooooo it all! As far as sent rep, I personally couldn't care less, but I'd love to see all the rep I've ever gotten. Just like some boards don't let you see all the posts you've ever posted. Kind of irks me. Off to finish off my fries and BBQ. Wish I had more Dr. Pepper. Can you give me that plz?
There is a "forum default" for how many posts per page and how many threads per forum, right? Why not introduce the same customizability in "Show last rep received?" Honestly, I don't care about rep from 10 months ago, but if some do, more power to them. I do also think that "Show last rep given" is a good idea as well.
I was the person who asked for this some time ago in a brainstorming thread. It was nice to have as a feature for the day or two it was turned on. I sometimes forget who I repped, and when the old "you must spread reputation around" box would pop up, I thought it handy to know when exactly that was. No major thing, just a "it would be kind of nice" sort of deal.
It's short for "reputation" - which I guess made a little more sense back when we displayed everyone's "rep score", but basically it's a way for users to give feedback to each others' posts - positive and negative - without having to post within the thread. So, for example, if someone makes a particularly funny or insightful post, many people will give the post positive rep - with and without feedback by clicking on the little icon of scales next to the post (bottom left corner). From an aesthetic perspective, it can improve thread quality when lots of posts aren't simply "great post" or similar commentary - and it can be a way to give feedback privately without having to send a private message. On the negative side, folks get surprisingly sensitive about receiving negative rep, although less so now that the score isn't visible. People who have rep give points - usually 1 point for positive and -1 for negative feedback. Mods and supermods give more points. There are also limits on how much rep you can give one poster without having to "spread rep" to others which I guess is there so you don't inflate the rep of one particular person - which leads to the posts where people comment on not being able to give rep - which defeats some of the purpose unfortunately. Questions?
