Looks like they pulled the tweet. which showed the official letter suspending them for a smoke bomb.

The fact that we have a club who in my humble opinion is on the very WRONG side of this issue is ridiculous. You want in stadium atmosphere? You want to sell the image of a rabid fan base? Let the fans be rabid then? I suppose one could argue a flare could cause an injury to person or property but how the hell is a smoke bomb going to hurt anyone? It's a f****ng football match for Chrissakes!

I'm guessing someone in adjacent sections complained? I haven't seen smoke bombs and or flares set off for a long time while watching the broadcasts, at least in Section 8. They hardly ever show Sector Latino on TV anymore. Anyone that was at the game remember a smoke bomb going off?

From the reports on Twitter, there was. However, it was put out by the Sector Latino leaders. It wasn't a person who is a member. Monterey did nothing to stop it. The Fire has names and video of who did it but decided to punish everyone.

I have no skin in the game at all, so Section 8 would be well within its rights to tell me to pound sand, but it would be nice to see them go silent while Sector Latino is banned. They should have each others backs.

Luck has it that I have the car to myself tomorrow night and I thought about making a road trip out to Toyota Park to pay $15 for parking plus whatever a ticket, hot dog and couple of beers costs anymore and watch my first live game of the season, but this is a load of horseshit, so I'm staying home and drunkwatching. I was glad to see Section 8 show solidarity with Sector Latino and can't wait see what the atmosphere is like without either of them there. What a mess.

It would have been nice if they talked to the SG leaders to ascertain the situation.

This feels like the first incident in a while. I would have sent a statement all SGs warning about penalties for use of flares/smoke.

Although, if it sounds like the SG knew who set off the flare and was attempting to hide them, I understand the punishment. In this case, it sounds like the person who set off the flare is "not a member" and was not known.

I had planned all that except I was gonna not spend my money at Toyota park I was gonna spend the beer money at half acre, the hotdog money bat grand dukes, and get a ride so I don't give them parking money. This is just the last straw. I had free transportation and a ticket and still not going

I was really surprised I hadn't noticed it in the stadium. That's why.

Ok now this makes more sense (and less sense) to me because the last home match I kept wondering where the Sector Latino parade was after the anthem. I didn't hear them coming in and their numbers in the corner seemed less boisterous and musical than usual (no drums or horns) and I NEVER saw a smoke bomb inside the stadium. So the fact that this is even an issue is the issue in itself. This is ridiculous.

Sorry to hear about the F.O. leaning on the Latino Sector SG. In the Fort at Revs games, we have had our share of arrests and bans for an occasional swear in our chants... smoke bombs and flares are not allowed in Massachusetts. They tried to ban the streamers at one point as well.
