3rd matchday today was vs the same opponent, Havelse as the 2nd matchday. Club seems to be one of the worst in U19 Nord/Nordost, tbh. anyways Hannover wins again this time 4-1 and Soto got a brace. Havelse GK seems to have bombed massively the game. Scored an own goal. Most of Hannover's goals came out of nothing and misunderstandings, basically self-destruction.
yeah your right but still not much different both are one of the worst teams in the league. not surprising though Niendorfer's 1st team is OL and Havelse's 1st team is RL.
they were acceptable and 17 pts above the relegation teams. Niendorfer last season only survived by 2 pts. While Havelse are newly promoted team from lower level. Niendorfer are already at 0 pts, 1 goal scored and 9 against after 3 matches Havelse are at 3 pts and 2 goals scored and 7 against, after 3 matches
Yeah, but they only won 2 of their last 9 games and got drilled by Niendorfer 5-2 on the third-to-last matchday and closed the season by losing 7-2 to RB Leipzig. May have been extenuating circumstances there I don't know about but they ended the season in emphatically negative fashion.
player like Maina was with the 1st team and other players were injured. And at the end of the day towards the end of the season when you know you won't make any Championship the result matters little. Besides RB Leipzig is a poaching team, they poach players from others all the time, so they aren't a weak team. In the past they reached 2nd place numerous times, But recently they have been more along the lines of midtable look at it this way for Hannover 2017-2018 season, 8th place 2016-2017 season, 7th place 2015-2016 season 6th place they are neither bottom nor in the top. They got 6 pts playing weak teams but got defeated by a 9 men Bremen 3-1.
team lost 2-0 to Union. were losing 1-0 until at the 27th minute Neiss got a straight red so for the rest of the match they were 10 men.
@zlebmada tweeted that he got another brace. https://twitter.com/zlebmada Sebastian Soto got another brace yesterday in a 4-0 win for the Hannover U19s in a regional cup match against JFV Verden/Brunsbrock. Score was 0-0 at the half, at which point Soto came on and scored the first (56') and second (70') goals. 11:28 AM - 30 Aug 2018
U19 is the same level that Pulisic starred at to leverage appearances with BVB. Any reason why Soto cannot do the same with Hannover, who has a much thinner attacking core?
No reason whatsoever. I think he's on the right track. Here is another indicator that the club vales him: US prodigy Sebastian Soto guides former Germany Chancellor Gerhard Schröder around Hannover academy https://www.bundesliga.com/en/news/...ermany-chancellor-hannover-academy-511507.jsp Soto has already scored twice in four matches [written before the above brace was scored] - for Hannover’s under-19 team – where he plays alongside left-back Gloster –– and on Wednesday the Californian had the honour of showing 74-year-old Schröder around. As well as being chancellor of Germany from 1998 to 2005, Schröder is a well-known Hannover supporter and board member. Soto helped the retired politician discover some of the facilities at the club’s academy, which was opened in 2016 following an investment of around €18 million.
Wait, what? Soto has been there like maybe 1 or 2 months and he is showing a 74 year old board member around the facilities?? That logistically makes absolutely no sense to me.
The nice thing about the Bundesliga is they post all the U19 goals: https://tv.dfb.de/video/4-spieltag-staffel-nord-nordost-alle-spiele-alle-tore/22775/ That's from the TSV Havelse game, starts at 0:20 and Soto's goals are the first and final for H96.
Nephew of Eddie Soto, who played some minor league ball in the 1990s, got into NCAA coaching, became a longtime assistant at UCLA, and now is head coach at San Francisco. Sebastian is from SoCal, moved to join the RSL academy where he was converted to a forward, and Hannover has reaped the benefits.
