I can't believe I didn't realize the game was yesterday. Having just seen the time of the goals, I think it's disappointing that the team didn't manage to win, but I'm not expecting they win road games very often. However, I am very pleased that the team scored two goals on the road (and by the sound of it, could have scored more!). Probably won't be able to get a replay since ESPN is the devil and MLS hates its fans now apparently, but ultimately I can't say I'm disappointed. Two big wins at home, a close road loss and a road draw in the last four games is serious improvement. The Quakes never even looked competitive under Stahre, and Almeyda has gotten these guys to actually go toe to toe with opponents, even teams that player to player, should be quite a bit better.
Calvillo for Magnus would have been better and other than Wondo we don’t have another forward to sub Danny for as Cade can’t play w the first team till July or something like that... So we need a forward that’s ready to go in the summer transfer window
It was an NBC sports broadcast. Supposedly it was available to stream on their sports app, so maybe still available.
Both Wondo and Vako don't fit into this team's style. Wondo just needs his goals this year and send him on his way. Vako hopefully won't be a part of the squad next year. The two DP slots we will open up can bring in some real talent for this team. Next year should be good.
It was actually a cracking game... that's something we didn't get to say enough the last few years. Two teams who really went for it, nothing wrong with that. Onward and upwards hopefully. Three points coming out of Dallas isn't unrealistic, is it?
That's good to know, now I'll just have to figure out if you need a cable subscription in order to access the saved stream. You do or did for live broadcasts, and since our package does not include the sports channels, I am going to guess I can't watch it there, either.
I thought Marie looked good at the end of the match against the Sporks. Which honestly surprised me. Bonus for us if he turns good. Go Quakes!! - Mark
You might be able to sign up for a free month of YouTube TV and use that credential to stream the game in the NBC app. Sometimes NBC replays the games as well.
On the one hand yes, we should be better next year. On the other hand, waiting for next year is shit. We should have ditched several more players this past off-season. And I really, really hope that Matias is still our coach next season. (Even though I don’t like some of what he’s doing, should he leave, we’ll start over at square one, which will suck.) I really, really want to see Wondo haul down at least six or seven goals this season. Go Quakes!! - Mark
Vako played very strange. I kept expecting him to push forward with his runs but he moved it slow and was sitting back. I assumed that he was not asked to score a winner but instead provide midfield stability since Magnus was on empty and send balls forward as opportunity happened. Even as the wingers moved forward he just sat back. Obviously he could of also just be quitting as well.
Appreciate the suggestions. Ultimately I'm not going to lose sleep over not getting to see the replay. Highlights will probably be enough from an entertainment standpoint, but always good info to have.
They're still in the "I think I can" phase. Like being up 2-0 is a dream and then - poof: Wakeup call, you're on your heels trying to keep from going down a goal.
Seattle is a good team and they were playing well. The idea that the Quakes were going to be able to sit on a 2-0 lead for more than a half hour was always a mirage.
Yeah - a friend gave me a ticket to last night's Warriors game so I missed this. Hopefully, I can watch a replay when I get home, but if not, I'll just read the "in-game" thread and it will be just like being there!
TBH, neither do I, but how can you turn down a playoff ticket! Anyway, apparently I'm a jinx, so I doubt I'll be invited back...
Positives: 1) It's awesome that I'm disappointed with a tie, against one of the best teams in the league, playing at their house. I don't remember the last time I felt that. 2) In the past I had said I was better coaching Lima than @TyffaneeSue is coaching Salinas. I was wrong and she's proven how much better she is than me.... I'm not worthy. 3) That Espinoza kid is pretty good. 4) We're doing a much better job on really quick counter attacks and situational switches. Cummings had a really good game. Negatives 1) Judson speed last night was really welcome but it feels like Godoy is playing better. He was missed I think. 2) Things felt out of control several times in the game, especially when they scored two so quickly. Situationally we need to be aware of the energy and know when to really slow down a game. 3) The woodwork is not our friend this year.
Salinas is in good form right now and should start whenever he is available. Also, no coach should play him as LB anymore unless it is emergency. Looking back, it makes the decision to play him as LB the whole last season even more horrible. Glad that he got through that patch and now he can play where he is more comfortable and can contribute. I like how they play the ball to Hoesen's feet and give him a chance to hold the ball or to do something positive. Also agreed that Wondo and Vako may not fit this system and have the energy level required. Hopefully they can adjust because we are thin in that department and only Hoesen seems to be effective. Another thing is this style and system requires a lot of running, tracking, will and concentration. It will be interesting to see how we can rotate players and sustain through out the season.
Danny Musovski? He's been compared to Wondo, after all, and I'd love to see him playing for the Quakes. Is he out of the picture?
Way back when I once turned down a court side seat for a Warriors game, it happened to be a night Karl Malone scored 56 points for the visiting Jazz.
It's great that we have players on both sides now that can take on and beat their defender 1 v 1. Now we just need that special #10 that has the vision to play those through balls that our speedsters can run onto.
We've no real leaders in the middle of the park. Roy Keane was probably the best I've ever seen at it. They're rare and expensive, but we need someone who can control play. Sam Cronin wasn't bad at it to be fair, he's never been replaced.
Seattle played well and we still tied them. WoW. After a fast start from Seattle, we came back and held our own except for the 10-15 period giving up the two goals. I told me wife about five minutes before they scored the first goal just needed to get through 10-15 minutes and we would have won the game. Good coaching by Seattle getting subs in. Other than Judson, I thought most of the team played well (at the moment, Godoy is the better option). I'm a little concerned with Yuell's focus later in game, but he had a good first half. Congrats to Shea on the two goals. This style of play seems to work for him. Seattle is a good team. Agree with the comments on Vako and Wondo. Both need more time to get into the game. Vako was Ok, but Wondo was useless. Need to find a backup for Danny because we are in trouble if he goes down with an injury or poor form.
