Missed this live to go to a concert at Thalia Hall with the wife, where we sat next to a dude in a Fire Basti jersey, coincidentally. Watched the replay on ESPN+ (I really miss the MLS Live condensed match option) and speed through stoppages and what not - we played better and should have won, but this doesn't feel like the kick in the nuts other recent ties have felt like. I do think that Gordo's gone cold, unfortunately, and Niko had a chance or two he should've finished as well. Still sucks to see Shipp in another team's kit and sucked even harder to see him come off early with what looked like an injury. Sanchez remains a heart attack in net- did he wonder off to the concession stand on the near own-goal from Dax toward the end? Hopefully we can string together a few wins and make something of the season- despite the lack of depth we should be able to contend for a playoff spot this season.
Sad thing is that if Sanchez had let that go in, it would not have been his worst screw up this season.
that was a classic over-the-hill miss. The kind of play that sends more self-aware players into retirement.
