So now that Kicker has reported it, do the mods want to move my thread back to where it was? Unless Sean Davis has some kind of future in Austria? Maybe you think Tyler Adams doesn’t deserve his own thread?
@bungadiri may overrule me, but I believe when Adams officially signs, someone can create a new thread for him in the main YA forum.
Word. He's ahead of McKennie in many respects to me, and I love me some Weston. The questions always is, can he do it at a faster pace?
Usually if a reliable source announces a significant move like this one there are others who confirm it within a few hours on Twitter without citing the same source. There hasn’t been any confirmations of Adams move yet so hopefully Kicker didn’t announce it wrongfully.
Ah good wasn’t aware of that, good to hear. Just surprised none of the big names for US soccer players have announced it yet. Also saw this article posted a few hours ago which sheds some light on Marsh moving and a vague Adams mention. https://www.prosoccerusa.com/mls/ne...oach-jesse-marsch-shoots-down-leipzig-rumors/
Jesse Marsch on Tyler Adams: "Leipzig would be very happy to have him. His future is in Europe." https://t.co/qVR6URjs9J— Mark Fishkin #🟦 (@MarkFishkin) July 10, 2018
1. Who knew there was an RB Leipzig Brasil? 2. Who knew they knew who Tyler Adams was? 3. Who knew the Brasil RB Leipzig fan base would care enough to justify that tweet?
He hasn’t shown as much improvement this season as I would have expected. Last game against NYFC he was poor, but even games before he’s playing at about the same level at the end of last season.
Another Yank in the Bund? YESSSSS! Sources tell me that Tyler Adams will join Jesse Marsch in moving from the New York Red Bulls to RB Leipzig. The USMNT midfielder/defender will likely stay in New York for the remainder of the MLS season before going to Germany. Full story: https://t.co/XDBCwknAqE— Sam Stejskal (@samstejskal) July 11, 2018 From the linked piece: It’s possible that the 19-year-old could be sold to Leipzig in the summer transfer window and loaned back to New York for the remainder of the season or that he could be sold to the Bundesliga side in the winter transfer window in January. Completing the transfer now and then loaning Adams back to New York for the remainder of the MLS season would make the US international eligible to play for Leipzig as soon as New York are eliminated in MLS, which could be as early as the end of October. If the parties wait until the winter transfer window to complete the deal, Adams will not be eligible to play for Leipzig until January.
Good. Adams needs to develop, and he's stagnating in New York. I'm also happy to see that the transfer fee is at market rate. $5 million puts the move at the higher end of MLS departures, and because he's a homegrown, that gives the Red Bulls a lot of money to work with going forward. If he does stay with the Red Bulls until the end of the season, this seems like a big win for all parties involved.
