This is from the first official non-official stadium thread https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/th...hread-what-we-know-and-how-we-know-it.161109/ Memories. There may be older threads but you all will have to look for them.
Have they even given the County Board the simple things they asked for to get the go-ahead to begin planning the construction in Leesburg yet? Last I had heard was that the team ignored requests and that the meeting expected to vote for it was cancelled - someone else local tweeted that it seemed like a formality for the next month's meeting - but I don't know if that ever occurred. I'd like to go to games there instead of Buzzard Point next year, but I don't think they're far enough to make that happen yet. I'm not exactly with-it on local Loudoun political movements I drove past last week and no signs of anything, literally or figuratively.
Annapolis reached out to DCU and offered them the old hospital site. DCU said no. Now its going to become a huge Lacrosse site http://www.capitalgazette.com/news/government/ac-cn-bayhawks-stadium-1220-story.html
That proposal is going nowhere. Among the the requirements of the team is that the state/county build a new interchange on I-97 for it.

Well, if you continued “club seats...not at pitch level looking like storage lockers facing the TV cameras so your stadium doesn’t look like shit on a broadcast” then it’s a grand slam of fail. Thx, Jay!
I dunno, I kind of like them. They're directly below me, and at least once per game someone who is eating at one of those tables, or taking selfies on their phone while not paying attention to the game gets blasted with a soccer ball going out of play. Good times. I do wish they'd wrap those white walls, though...
I often have to remind myself that not only are the concrete walls white, they decided to make the material around the suites just off-white so it doesn't look any different than the white concrete.
Frankly, the suite view on TV would look much better if they just painted the white walls a different color (black & red? hello?) or did some kind of DCU wall wrapping. Or even faced it with tile/brick/stone etc. ANYTHING that relates to the team or makes it look upscale- since its the MOST expensive seats in the house. But no... left just left it as a hospital white concrete block wall. It just looks SO CHEAP.
It actually isn't concrete around the suites. It is nearly the same color so it looks like it may as well be concrete. It all should be a different color though.
