If every day were like today I bet all the steel would be up. They got lots of stuff flying today, especially noticeable with the roof.
LA and Minnesota webcams are worth checking out if you haven't been there in a while. It's a winter wonderland at Allianz Park, but work continues. The liquor store in the foreground is doing booming busness. It's too bad we don't get a real webcam, sitruc's outstanding still photography not withstanding.
LA requires flash which I don’t do. I did t realize Minnesota was already under construction. Will look for that one.
I did figure out how to get flash working. It's worth it if I spot Garrison Keiler entering the liquor store.
I've been watching them install seats in LA. It wasn't until today that I realized that not only does the Entertainment and Sports Arena for Monumental Sports and Entertainment have two webcams, they are the same type that only update every 10-12 minutes.
The mobile site streams without flash as I can watch it on an IOS device. Just pop this in a mobile browser and you should be fine. https://www.lafc.com/stadium/cams You can also use a mobile plugin on a desktop browser to request the non-flash stream. James
LOL. Goff says that it's for the installation of the final steel beam for AF. Agree with @dcchelseafc that the club should make a big deal out of this.
I'd take our league standings in 2006 or 2007...but yeah, I think this franchise has "topped out" enough already.
Someone with more construction knowledge can correct me, but I think topping out ceremonies involve a small tree being hoisted up with the last piece of steel, right? I wonder if it will be a "Charlie Brown Christmas tree" kind of thing for this one.
I like seeing that NE corner begin to fill in a bit more. There is a single beam that rises above the others giving us a sense of the height of the clubhouse and how much it will help to enclose the space. I can't stand those open plan stadiums like Chicago and Colorado so the more enclosed the better.
that beam is actually the lights, the actual building will a little bit shorter than the elevators. if i'm seeing this the right way
At some point last night/this morning it looks like some rows were removed at the top of the southern portion of the east stand.
Correct. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Topping_out. "Nowadays, the ceremony is often parlayed into a media event for public relations purposes."
Yep, I think you are right. (The virtual seat finder on the Audi Field site was helpful to take a look at the clubhouse.)
They probably forgot to put in a handicapped viewing area Or they put in the wrong prefab section, it belonged somewhere else instead.
