I honestly don't know. Mrs. W has been getting our half-season tickets as a Christmas present to me for the last umpteen years. Any DCU correspondence goes to her, and afaik she hasn't received any emails from them. As I said, a little farther up-thread, she got a call while we were out of town, and the rep left a message. She called the rep back, and got the rep's voice mail. It's been several days now, and we haven't heard anything back from that rep. I will ask her to call the rep back again to see what is going on. Updated 3:00 PM: Mrs. W just got home. She has no emails from DC United, and the rep has not called her back. I asked her to call the rep again.
Just got the info from my rep. I’m November 14th late in the afternoon. I’m currently in the mezz and am in my 3rd season up there, but previously had been midfield, midfield half season and, originally, flex plan.
I have been very busy and haven't been able to make it out the past two days during hours worth navigating construction sites. Once again we're going to see steel pop up quickly. It's beginning on the north side of the west building.
Just visited and posted on the Crew website. Much suffering and gnashing of teeth. As much stick as we give those folks, I really feel for them at the moment. One of the posters asked for tifo on Sunday. That’s out of my league. How about a “Precourt sucks” chant at minute 20 in the first half? Is that possible? As fans, we have to stick together against these millionaire asshats.
I hate to break this news, but I think anyone with less than a full season ticket gets put into the group after all the full season ticket holders, but before the general public. Your rep should be able to answer that question.
They did put in the email I received that they are busy with the NYRB game so calls may be slow in getting returned.
So for those of you looking at getting seats on one of the sidelines, are you looking at being on the East side, above the club level, and therefore getting to be in the sun, or are you looking at being on the West side, where sun in your eyes appears like it will never be an issue?
Maybe someone can confirm by looking at their respective email properties - if it's an email with account specifics, it's probably generated with a different process than general bulk announcements, and sent from a different email server. That can mean it'll be treated differently by your service provider - shuttled to spam or even bounced back or blocked. You might try giving them a different email address and see if they can make that work. For all that we rely on it, email is actually wild-wild-west stuff - tens of thousands of dictatorships run by a range of enlightened to incompetent strongmen who don't really have an imperative to help someone get their email to you, especially if it's the dreaded "bulk" email. It's not intractable, but it's spotty, and it's exactly the kind of problem I'd expect them to have out of the gate.
Account rep tells me that there will be an interactive map coming in the "coming weeks" to help us navigate through the various levels.
Not in junk or spam filters, already gave them a different email address to use. Actually, they should use the guys that send out the viagra emails or the Nigerian prince emails -- they seem to get through every time.
Haven't decided yet. I like the height of the East Stand seats, but the sun could be a problem. What is important is the exact orientation of stadium on an East - West axis. Remember that in the summer, the sun actually sets to the northwest a bit and gradually moves back south as Fall approaches. In other words, I'm not yet sure if the sun is directly in my eyes or off at an angle.
From what I can tell on maps, I think the field is running due North/South. There's some pictures in that Audi Field 101 guide that shows the sun study done for 4 PM and 7 PM, but that doesn't give you an idea of whether you'll be looking directly into the sun on the East side or not as the sun sets.
