Ha! I was thinking about posting something about Scots abroad in general. Has anyone else noticed how pathetic Scots are abroad as footballers? All I ever hear about is about them being home sick blah blah blah. Pathetic.
Jamie Smith with the Colorado Rapids is probably the team MVP for the first half of the season. Not only that, he got to meet President Obama when the team was honored as MLS Cup champions.
I'm probably thinking about the more high profile players. Same with the English. More Scots and English players abroad would be a good thing.
Derek Riordan is at Chinese club Shaanxi Chan-Ba. I think there are a good few Scots in the A-League too.
Alan Gow is now playing for Kingfisher East Bengal in India. Grant Brebner and Steven McGarry play in Australia. There are Scottish 120 players playing in the top 4 English Divisions (70 in the PL and Championship), most don't feel the need to go any further.
Are there any still playing in Scandanavia? I know Robbie Winters was playing there fairly recently and Charlie Miller had a stint with a Norwegian team for a while as well. EDIT: Robbie Winters is now playing with Grindavik of Iceland.

James McFadden set to join Wolverhampton http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896...thy-confirms-wolves-set-to-open-talks-to-sign
He's still fat and likes Monster Munch... Other than that, so far, during his Turkish expedition, he's made 1 sub appearance in the 2-0 home defeat to Trabzonspor.
Mcfadden ends up joining Everton http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/oct/17/scotland-james-mcfadden-everton
He looks as if he has lost a lot of weight since his Rangers days in that pic? Rangers could have used his goal scoring prowess now that Jelavic has left the Ibrox. Anyway good luck to him at his new club.
