Some good news, looks like Darryl Sattler is back on the team, coming in from a USL Pro team in Florida.
USL Pro team in Florida? You mean Orlando? I don't think so. He was playing for Minnesota since leaving SA.
Minnesota let him go last season in 2013. He wasn't doing very well. He had to go all the way down to the NPSL to Jacksonville United FC, where he was for most of this season.
Menjivar might be out a long time with this new injury. Also, DeRoux and Cann haven't been to the last three matches if I remember correctly... Wonder what's up with that, especially since they were home games where everyone usually is active..

Scorpions Psychologically Ready For Saturday Finale Liverpool, Manchester United, Barcelona; they all subscribe to the value of employing a sports psychologist, a practice that has become regarded as mainstream thinking in the soccer world. Since taking over the reins in San Antonio, Scorpions coach Alen Marcina has called upon the services of Dr. Rick Theis, a licensed psychologist, to add an often undervalued and unexplained dimension to the preparation of his team. So what is sports psychology and how has it benefited the Scorpions? “You start from the youth level all the way up,” explained Dr. Theis. “If you look at the pillars of soccer – technical, tactical, physical, psychological – if you’re not doing it, you’re missing a key part of player development.” http://www.nasl.com/article/uuid/pm.../scorpions-psychologically-ready-for-saturday
Stalwart Defender At The Heart Of The Scorpions On the field in San Antonio there has been one constant since the Scorpions debuted in 2012. Defender Greg Janicki made 20 appearances during that first campaign and this season has again featured in the heart of the Fall Season champions’ back four. The appeal of the club where he is completing his third season by lining up in the NASL Championship final is simple. “You feel like a professional player with the stadium, the things they provide, their Nike contract, the team psychologist and the nutritionalist,” explained Janicki. “They provide everything you need. They do a good job of giving you all the little things you need to win. http://www.nasl.com/article/uuid/c8nin6aszzj1sm0ptdsmr7eo/scorpions-stalwart
Really great for the Scorpion's and the NASL. A packed house at a great SSS to showcase the Soccer Bowl. Nice professional Broadcast of the match being showcased Nationally on ESPN3 is a nice step for the NASL. With ESPN using ESPNNews for more and more live events as well as more weekly shows of different leagues. Would be a great step to have the Soccer Bowl, 4 team Soccer Bowl Format, and a regular season game of the week building onto an ESPN Network. Weekly Rewind Show as well evolving into a half hour show would be nice programming for ESPNNews. As well in Canada TSN has followed the ESPN formats and ESPN having 20% ownership of the Network as well showing and sharing more programming.
Billy Forbes Takes Soccer for a Cause to Heart Has his own cause it seems...work in Haiti. That country needs lots of help and most don't realize how bad it was before the big earthquake and that it's even worse since. My wife works for a mission group that focuses on Haiti. Best of luck to Billy and his efforts to help out.

The NASL Division II Champs take on Costa Rica U-23s... The San Antonio Scorpions will play an international friendly against the Costa Rican U-23 national team, the club announced Wednesday. The match will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. on March 28 at Toyota Field. "The Costa Rica U-23s will be a good challenge for us in our last preseason game before the NASL regular season begins," head coach Alen Marcina said. “Costa Rica has a strong tradition of qualifying for World Cups and has players in major leagues across the globe.” http://www.nasl.com/article/uuid/1c...st-costa-rica-u-23s-in-international-friendly
You guys got 2 former Quakes in Marvin Chavez and Nana Attakora. All I can say is WOW. 2 high quality players. Nana was a very under-rated CB. He won the starting spot for us a few years ago, but unfortunately sustained a bad concussion. And what can I say about Chavez, the dude is a great player. Really shitty attitude, but a great player. You guys should be heavy favorites to win the NASL and make a decent run in the Open Cup.
Matt Cardone was in goal ... he's a kid out of Trinity University here in SA (D3 school) .... but other than that it was a very, very solid lineup.
That's my biggest concern with the change from last year. We had 2 MLS goalies in (Bingham and Saunders) this year we have Cardone and Sattler, huge steps back!
