10’ Dortmund putting on a lot of pressure. Pulisic ran down a poor pass back to the GK which won a corner. Other than that, his defensive effort has not been great.

Pretty good, open game so far. Both teams are getting up and down the field with promising attacks.

15’ Dortmund seem to be playing a 4-2-4 at times. Really looking to push Schalke.

17’ Pulisic with a nice exchange and move on the right but forced to pass back.

20’ Dahoud with an excellent long ball to switch play towards Pulisic, who then controls well and finds Pizczek for a cross that goals nowhere.

24’ Nice strike by Reus on a FK is going top corner, but Fahrmann comes up with a huge save.

Big game from the keepers today, because Burki also had a huge save earlier that would have been an goal.

Dahoud should change his Star Wars haircut. He looks like he walked off a ship from the rebel alliance.

38’ Game has settled in the middle third and has not led to a lot of chances in the second part of this half

46’ Kono has a strike go just wide for Schalke and that would have taken the wind out of Dortmund’s sails

I agree with the announcers that the game has gradually shifted in Schalke's favor. It's been a while since Dortmund has come close to generating a semi-promising attack.

HT: Last 15 minutes was a dogfight aside from the Kono chance. Pulisic has had some good touches but both him and Philip have been ineffective. At the point he must be getting instructions to stay forward because I’m just screaming into the wind about how little impact he has transitioning back to defense.

One of the two teams to need make a change in the center of the park to reall get things moving. I think Schalke could use McKennie to add that something extra. Dortmund need to be careful, because they have frailty at the back and barely had anything good going forward towards the end of the first.

Pulisic was solid in the first half. Didn’t get on the ball much, but had assured touches and decent ideas when he did.

I am a BVB fan, but I love Tedesco. Except for the IZOD, WTF? How old is that shirt? Are they still a thing in Germany?

Early on Schalke were attacking down Pulisic's side and he did not appear particularly eager to help with the numerical mismatches that was creating. That may be because of instruction, but it was not a good look. Pulisic appeared to change positions and that helped BVB's defense.

Schalke looked to have the better part of it and if BVB keep giving them set pieces they will end up scoring on one. They have been close a couple of times already.

BVB needs a moment of brilliance, individually or collectively.

Despite my interest in seeing McKennie, I don't know if I'd change anything if I were Schalke. I'd see if they could continue forcing the play and hold off on any subs unless they get to 65 or 70 minutes in and still haven't broken through.

For Dortmund, it's the same old story. They just can't impose their will in midfield and gradually are getting overrun there. Schurrle coming on?

59’ Schalke really playing aggressively now... Pulisic was bullied off the ball and Dortmund are not getting any time to move the ball forward.

60’ Bats getting pushed off the ball then stumbles... Story of the day. Piszczek forced to draw a yellow to kill the counter.

Dortmund attack was totally without a plan in the 1st half. I stopped watching. Just no vision.
