    7 mins in and Leverkusen has a bulk of the ball but it’s clear Schlage are trying to play through balls into Hadji. A couple of nice runs and couple of passes just off.

    Wes whiffed on a juicy header and had it clatter harmlessly off his shoulder. Needs to do a lot better on a cross that good

    Around the 10th minute Schalke whipped in a cross from the right wing into the 6 that Weston simply couldn’t get a good head on. Great opportunity.

    20 min. Weston again with a great opportunity. This time the ball whipped in from the left side into the 6 and this time he does get his head on it but the keeper makes a decently comfortable save.

    Have two Americans ever played up top together in Europe? It doesn't even happen that often in MLS, much less the Bundesliga. Maybe Fulham at one point?

    They seem to have a real axe to grind against him. Claimed he was the wrong guy for the first header to fall to. Asserted he didn't do well with a ball that didn't even make it through to him. Thought he should have done better on a couple turns in traffic around the box. One he did really well with, defender did well to get a little piece of it, and he still laid off to a teammate. And then he did great on the long header to test the keeper but they wished it fell to Wright because he was bigger (probably would have done less).
