There are plenty of much older banners used by local clans and Kings of the past, but the worlds oldest National flag, the Danneborg, has just turned 800 years (though it was most likely in use way before that), but according to legend it fell from the sky as a sign from God during the Danish crusades in the Baltics against the German allies in 1219 in Lindanise Estonia ... now known as Tallinn (meaning Danish-town) .. and though you would think that Estonia would not care for the Danish flag and losing a battle and their freedom back then, they do participate in celebrating the Danish flag, just as the coat of arms of Estonia, is derived from the coat of arms of Denmark :

The Danish Queen visit Estonia and Tallinn in celebration of the 800 years :

.. and officially receiving the supposed original version of the Danish flag by Estonia in the 'Danish Kings Garden' in Tallinn :

Danish military celebrate the Danish flag by painting an F-16 for the rest of it's "lifetime", to travel all around the country for all of Denmark to see, and also to be used in air shows abroad (including Estonia).

@vifvaf ... Is it not true that Norway do not have an actual official national anthem, unlike most of the rest of the World ?

Denmark got 2 official national Anthems, the Royal anthem and the Anthem in use at sport events ... but also got an unofficial anthem written by national author and poet Hans Christian Andersen, that also the Danish Royal family will stand up for, in honor, admiration and respect .. and arguably is also the most popular of the 3 anthems.

here are the 3 Danish anthems :

    The official.

The official Royal anthem written in 1778 (here in the 1828 Elverhøj version by the German-Danish composer Friedrich Kuhlau .... used as soundtrack in a scene in the Danish film The Olsen Gang Sees Red, a film that was also translated by Nordisk Film into a Norwegian version :

Noway has a official national Anthem. Ja vi esker dette landet is the current national anthem.
"Ja, vi elsker dette landet" (In English: "Yes, we love this country"), also known by the title "Song For Norway", is a patriotic anthem, which has been commonly regarded as the de facto national anthem of Norway since early 20th century, after being used alongside Sønner av Norge since the 1860s. The lyrics were written by Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson between 1859 and 1868, and the melody was written by his cousin Rikard Nordraak sometime during the winter of 1863-1864. It was first performed publicly on 17 May 1864 in connection with the 50th anniversary of the constitution. Usually only the first and the last two verses are sung.

Before "Sønner av Norge" there was "Norge skaal" (Cheers Norway) (From 1814-1820)

    Then there is "King`s song"
Kongesangen ("King's Song") is Norway's royal anthem.[1] The lyrics come in several versions. The first version (Gud sign vår Konge god, gi ham i farer mod) was written by N. Vogtmann around 1800, but the version used today and quoted below was written by Gustav Jensen for the coronation of Haakon VII and Maud of Wales in 1906 and later used in his Landstads reviderte salmebok. It was inspired by the British royal and national anthem, and set to the tune of "God Save the Queen".[2] Even Henrik Wergeland wrote a translation of the anthem, in 1841.

And there is the patriotic song "Norway in red , white and blue". A song made during the occupation in 1941 by Lars-Erik Larsson with text from Finn Bø, Bias Bernhoft og Arild Feldborg .

The text from this song is actually used as a microscopic coding on the driving licenses card in Norway today.

Donald Trump has asked the Danish Government if we would be interested in an official visit after his visit to Poland for the World War 2 anniversary September 1.

The Danish government has now agreed to the visit and the Queen of Denmark has send him and his family a personal invite as well. Donald Trump Jr. is married to Vanessa Kay Trump, whose mother is Danish-American Bonnie Kay Ewans who is the daughter of the famous Danish jazz musician from the 1930's, Kai Ewans... Bonnie Kay Ewans herself had a brief Danish acting career, including the film "The Girl and the Millionaire" :

    https://www.geni.com/people/Vanessa-Trump/4876967779310131627

.. but in the 70's she moved to the US where she got married to an American and gave birth to Vanessa. When the former Prime minister of Denmark visited Trump after his inauguration he (instead of usually rather boring gifts you exchanges at that kind of visits) brought with him an original record by Kai Ewan's, so this was something original and personal with family affiliation, so this gift may actually be one of the reasons why Trump is keen on visting Denmark.

.. and now Trump want the USA to make a trade and/or make a bid to buy Greenland from Denmark ... though as silly at it may seem, the USA did consider trading the most Northern (and also by far the biggest State in the USA) Alaska for Greenland back in 1946, but instead a supposed secret offer was made to buy Greenland from Denmark back then, but Denmark rejected the offer, saying that such a transfer would be unthinkable.

In this day an age, it would not be possible for Denmark to sell/trade Greenland without the permission from the population of Greenland and the Greenlandic Parliament and Self-Government and the Greenlandic government clearly stated yesterday, that they would not agree to a transfer to the USA. So even if the Danish government and parliament would agree to such a transfer (which would be unthinkable), it would not be possible...

But as you perhaps remember, then Denmark sold the Danish West Indies (now US Virgin Islands) to the USA back in 1917 ... in fact, the Danish Prime Minister shook hands with newly elected President Donald Trump at the Oval Office of the White House on 30 March 2017 on his way to Saint Croix the next day, to celebrate the 100 year anniversary for the transfer day of the islands to the US 31 March 1917 :

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danish_West_Indies

So perhaps this is also the reason why Trump and the US still think they have a chance of making some sort of trade or transfer deal with Denmark regarding Greenland.

The Norwegian Rema 1000 supermarket chain has become perhaps the most popular chain in Denmark, not only because of their low prices, but because it's not cheaply made products being cheap, but usually very good quality in small quantity and small packages at a low prices, unlike Danish Netto and Bilka, where you either need to buy XXL large packages or the quality fit the low price ...

I suspect that it's the terrible difficulty of achieving lower prices in Norway, that makes it more easy for them to be a success in Denmark, where food and beverage prices in general are low in any case like this Polish Vodka :
    https://www.vinmonopolet.no/vmp/Land/Polen/Dworek-Vodka/p/1334901

... which cost almost 300 Norwegian crowns in Norway it seems, but Rema 1000 in Denmark is able to sell for 58 Danish crowns due to the much lower VAT and taxation.

Swedes are not really able to save much money in Denmark because they keep devaluating Swedish crowns due to the huge cost of the millions of either illiterate and/or unskilled unemployable refugees and immigrants who has the right to get social and child benefits and free housing, so that 100 SEK is no only worth around 69 DKK ...

You are absolutely right . Rema is a "low price " chain in Norway . It is owned by the Reitan group. Basically a family from Trondheim. In lack of competition in the grocery market , we get very high prices on food.

When we visit our cabin in Sweden we usually spend around 50-60% on food, compared to our spending in Norway. Alcohol , cigarettes , goods with sugar and so on is very high taxed as well. Same with cars. A Volvo XC60 costs around 300 000 more in Norway , compared to Sweden. Or maybe you would like to buy a Mustang ? 1,2 mill in Norway .Around 350 000 in Sweden.
In 2017 Norwegians used 23,7 Billions NOK on "svenskehandel" or shopping on the borders.

So I'm sure Rema and other Norwegian supermaked chains like Norges gruppen will follow.

Besides higer taxation on food and beverages and lack of competition in the grocery market in Norway, the difference is of cause also that Denmark is flat as a pancake and pretty much all excellent farm land, which keep competition high and farms much bigger and then the supermarket chains also have much less transport and delivery cost. Rema 1000 in Denmark pride themselves with especially bread, meat and milk products being from the local area, and I'm not talking about "local" as being from all of Denmark, but from the exact city and local area and obviously this makes the cost of transport much lower.
