Yes, because nobody has ever been soaked in sweat after playing a soccer game and then had to wait until driving home or back to the hotel to shower. Unless every soccer field in America has suddenly been equipped with shower facilities, it happens every single day. If someone is THAT concerned about it, they are not forced to shower at the stadium, much less with a specific teammate. They can do it at home or at the hotel if it means that much to them. It's an extreme for sure, but I just don't see POd's lawsuit angle. Nobody is forced to shower with anyone. They do so of their own volition.
Heck, I used to go to church on Sunday nights directly from a game when I was younger. No time to change. Mind you, we're casual--and even more so back then, as it was a young crowd. No big deal.
Because nothing says Big League quite like having players drive home in their uniforms sweaty and dirty. i understand the need to be, um, understanding but everybody has a right to a sense of personal modesty and a little recognition that feeling that way does not make you a contemptible freak would not be uncalled for.
That would never actually happen, but I was just making the point because I don't see POd's lawsuit having any legs. Nobody is FORCED to shower with anyone. It would never come to someone driving home and showering because anyone who didn't want to shower with a gay teammate would surely just wait until the gay teammate was showered and gone. My example was extreme just to make the point that nobody is OBLIGATED to shower at a specific time with a specific person. I agree totally. Like I said, a 30-second conversation between two rational, empathetic adults resolves the situation behind closed doors with no harm done to either party.
then suppose, just for the sake of argument, that the doctors at tOSU, after extensive clinical research, decide that I'm the proverbial woman trapped in a man's body. thus empowered, and with the connivance of a coach who wants to show how open minded, tolerant, nonjudgemental and inclusive her team is, signs me to a Womens Pro Soccer contract. I wonder how my new teammates will feel about showering with me every day. I certainly am looking forward to it.
Oh that, “ifs and butts were candy and nuts,” then Bill Archer would be a holy empowered man/woman in need of a sex change, with a fishy attraction to women (no, men?) (no, women?) while playing soccer for a passive/aggressive sociopath. Thus contrived, Bill Archer becomes the “Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders” model of the overly aggressive male, deep in the sexual identity denial pool. Just for arguments sake, in this fictional fun filled fantasy world, let’s say there is a male soccer player trapped in a woman’s body...actually what I wanted to state here was, Fire Warzycha! Is this the correct thread? Coach in professional sports league in need of a job: record, statistically speaking (in virtually every measurable category), a perfect downward trend line over a four year period with the same team...never mind, I’ve already found the perfect fit. A league, team, town and fans willing to repeat the same tired excuses over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over...
i'm not sure but I think Iwas just insulted. by a rambling mental defective. on the internet. gosh, when did that ever happen?
Article about Danny Szetela. Interesting quote below (Emphasis mine) Pretty sure that injury isn;t why you are now playing for Icon FC. Just saying http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-t...-and-on-the-comeback-trail-with-danny-szetela
I will give him props that it really seems like he loves the sport and was trying to get back to the top tier in all earnestness, but in the end I think the chip on his shoulder trips him up every time.
Former Crew Goalkeeper Juergen Sommer is now the head coach of Indy 11. Indy 11 will begin play in the 2014 NASL season. http://indyeleven.com/juergen-sommer-to-lead-indy-eleven-as-head-coach/
Brad Friedal "Yes, I'm currently taking my UEFA A license and I hope to complete this in one year's time. And, if successful, I will then move on to my pro license and at that time I will make a decision on what I want to do in regards to coaching/managing." Someone should tell him that he needs to speed up his certifications...we can't stomach Bobby Popgun for another 2 years.
And people like Hesmer, former player, are in a unique situation where they can say they have been there and catch the ear of that first round NBA draft pic and have him as a client.
