^ AFC is trying to make it fair because our eastern Asian friends play their leagues at summer i dont know what is the point of that but they do it .
because this is the AFC Everything about this CL tournament is a ********ing joke. 1/16 round is only one leg and it also happens to be in one of the team's home grounds! There is a 4 month off period between the 1/16 round and the 1/8 The final is played in one of the finalist's home grounds and that is chosen by a coin flip. useless countries like the UAE have 4 teams in the tournament only because they have nice stadiums while good footballing nations have to sit out. asking why is a waste of time when this thing is the president of AFC
These are the things which I really don't understand. The 1/16 round shouldn't be a single match, yes the team who qualified 1st must have some kind of reward, but making the tie a single match AND away from home can make things a little bit too difficult for the opposite team. I agree with you on the rest of mentioned points above, but to be fair to Bin Hammam, I think he has done a decent job on improving the ACL since 2003, considering the level of professionalism in many countries involved in the competition.
