    The draw is made -

Group D: Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Palestine, Yemen, Singapore

But we are still without a coach !!

What a nightmare of a match Saudi Arabia played against Kuwait just now and lost 2-1
Can't Saudi Arabia find two decent Strikers, Defenders and a resilient Goal Keeper ?
Thought Alnimr was eye catching but Saudi Arabia have many good players in this position currently so I don't see him making the team.

Saudi needs to find a better striker, not 1 but 2, a sound goal keeper and thinking & sensible defenders

I think we are playing with C team not even B-Team actually.. I don't know anyone apart from Rabeaa Sufyani, Ali Al Nimr and Mustafa Malaika

Even the coach is Yousef Anbar.. Just good tournament to test the bench strength

Are the matches going to be on home and away basis ?...
    OR
Will they be held in one country and will be played once only against each team ?

You are wrong, it's not about Hilal players, its about Talent. Abdullah Al Hafiz is talented defender and he's far more better than Omar Housawi and Abdullah Madou.
I also stated that Hazaa Al Hazaa seems to be a good striker (does he plays for Hilal ?.. NO, he plays for Ettifaq)..., and he requires grooming by playing more in the national team friendly matches.

I don't see Saudis having enough talented Defenders and Stikers (as well as Goal Keeper) and your team seems more of a mediocre, not capable of challenging the likes of Australia, Japan, South Korea and Asian Champions.

Come out of your arrogance and pride and face the harsh reality that your team is failing to produce the likes of Majed, Yousuf, Sami... Stop relying and riding on your laurels and find some talented players first.

Use your arrogance to get more info about the players your recommending.. Abdullah Hafeth was 3rd choice CB after Ali Bulayhi and Jahfali and hardly got any game time with Hilal.

Hazza Al Hazza suffered ACL last year & has not got much back to form since after.

I would prefer Moataz Hawsawi partnering Omar in the defence but again he is just back from long term injury. Saudi NT has abundant talent in GK, Defence and Midfield. The fact that they have not found a decent striker since 2 years now is a different story.

Consistency should be the best policy. What about Fahed Al Jamiaa from Nasr ?... He is also a good player to be considered for NT.

Again, we see a new face upfront i.e., Hamdan in the friendly match against Mali. Though he is not getting involved much in the game as yet

So, Renard starts with a draw against Mali.

Not too many positives but can't judge too early.. Abdullah Hamdan was man down for the NT & needs to be more experienced to be senior team striker. Haroune Camara is slightly better and deserves start against Yemen.

The defence and midfield looks settle for now, but am eager to see Fahad and Nawaf back in action for NT.

Such a horrible 1st half against Yemen and Saudi Defender (specially No. 5) SUCKS big time, Bullahi is also stupid... both Defenders wasting time on ball as usual, with no movement to forward (who is clueless so far)... By God, if this team plays against Australia then would be down by 6 goals ... Players are playing miniature game, just like bull-shit

Not sure what 2nd half would look like, not seeing this team to do well against bigger and tougher opponents.

Such stupidity by Abdul Fattah Asiri, he was literally jay walking at the back (behind the defenders) instead of looking to have the Yemeni forward off-sided, and got hurt in the process.

Anyhow, somewhat fair game play in the 2nd half so far but still, a lot of mistakes by the Saudi Team as a whole

Can the Saudi Coach please please replace # 15 with some better and sensible player... # 15 doesn't know his surrounding opponents players when he gets the ball and easily gifts the ball away to opponent

Saudi NT team lacks a proper striker, not 1 but 2, a proper Defender, and a proper Goal Keeper as well... Also, team needs to be fast in passing and stop wasting time on ball at the back

Better to have Nasser Al Shamrani back in Saudi National Team till Saudi FA finds some decent strikers

So we added another embarrassment to the list after Yemen held the NT to 2-2 draw.

Clueless tactics and team strength. Abdullah Hamdan, Hamdan Shamrani , Abdul Rahman Dossari, Haroune Camara, Khalid Samiri & others were not given enough opportunity in friendly matches to prove there credit-ability to be in NT.

Herve' picked up in the last moment, I don't find his mistake too in this medicore performance... He has got enough time to find the best XI untill the next match day..

Don't scrap off senior players too early, Nawaf Abed still has years to play & I hope he gets soon some game time with Hilal & get back to the NT. Abdullah Otayf was missed in the midfield & I hope he's back soon. Fahd will be missed for 1 year which means we need to find his replacement ..

Abdullah Maouf should be dropped now too, his mistake costed us goals against Mali & yesterday Yemen too.. Can't understand why Fawaz is still not being tested.!!!

Fawaz is good to have at club level but he is not fit to represent the national team since he doesn't have the mindset and vision that Goal Keepers require to be in the national team. The vision and approach was only in Daeya (who used to visualize the angle at which ball would be played at the goal, and it was somewhat with Yasser Al Mussailem, rest of the goal keepers (including Maouf and Qarni) lacks that vision.

Also, the problem is the foreign players being played on the field by each club due Saudi Football Association clumsy decisions to have foreign players in key positions and play with as many foreign players on the pitch in any game, that killed the Saudi talent from coming upfront as coaches rely on foreign players to score and keep the team high and coaches job secure... It was always better to allow only 3 foreign players to play in a match on the pitch, and it was always best to have Saudi-Only goal keeper policy.

Saudi national team is on the decline due to non-availability of decent and talented strikers since all Abdullah Hamdan, Hamdan Shamrani , Abdul Rahman Dossari, Haroune Camara, Khalid Samiri have failed to impress, and seems not upto mark to be in the team.

Also, Saudi FA needs to play as much as friendly matches against good opponents from Africa, Eastern Europe, etc. to build a better national team.
Arrange some friendship tournament on round robin basis or something ... scout for players in 1st, 2nd and 3rd Division, ask all Saudi nationals to post their footballing skills videos to Saudi FA or post on social media to get noticed and ask for trial. Look for players above the height of 6 Feet 2 Inches to represent footballing skills. Build a team now for tomorrow otherwise, Saudi team is going no where.

You gave the problem & the solution...

The NT played very few friendlies post WC & hired coach very late. There was decent chance to extract some talent in WAFF championship in Iraq but it was poorly build team & disorganized.

Regarding Fawaz, he has not been been given enough chance to present the NT, so on what basis you say he lacks vision to be in the NT?. Maouf embarrassed the NT against Russia & repeated the same mistake against Mali and Yemen. Am not supporting Fawaz coz he's Ittihady but yes the influence of Hilal on NT is way too much now which is sinking the team.

I can mention lots of players who just got ticket to NT just coz he's Hilal player. You can only judge players when you give them chance rather than have similar mindset people in FA who supports particular club and wants to see its players in NT..

Saudi NT will decline & will continue to decline till the FA don't fix the crappy league or openly say there intention that they don't support the NT and concentrate more on the league which the England FA did for years now..
