Sand League banter thread 2017-18

I’ll start the Sandy Cup thread after the semis are complete and final scores are posted, should be some close scores with these matchups...

 

Actually since we have three GWs left, how about a two leg semi and one final? Here is the updated schedule which should make things even more interesting:

Sandy Cup tournament

Semifinals (first leg): GW36
Kopite Juniors vs. Cribmad
Stormin Gunners vs. Morning Glory

Semifinals (second leg): GW37
Cribmad vs. Kopite Juniors
Morning Glory vs. Stormin Gunners

Final: GW38
Winners of Semifinals

Gentlemen start your lineups and the tournament starts tomorrow morning!

 

Any tiebreakers will be based on whoever has the higher captain points (then vice captain if the captain points are equal, these points would be cumulative for the semis), game on!

Thanks Mark, wish I could say the same for my team but my players forgot to show up this past weekend. Hoping for a much better second leg. Your matchup with Cribmad looks like it will be a close one, looks like a Liverpool fan battle royale

First semi is close and looks like it will go down to the wire, second semi had a lop-sided first leg (MG doubled my score) so need a miracle in the second leg. But stranger things have happened...

Good luck to all in the second leg starting this Friday, a lot of double games in GW 37 so should get interesting.

Stranger things are happening, the gunners 5-0 win with 51 pts from my strikers puts me back in business. Completely wide open to see who makes it to the final, this is going to be a wild one...

 

The Sandy Cup Final is now set, Cribmad will defend his title vs. Stormin Gunners. Here are the totals from the two-leg semis:

Kopite Juniors: 47+67=114
Cribmad: 53+72=125

Morning Glory: 58+65=123
Stormin Gunners: 29+126=155

It’s going to be a wild end to the season, whatever my team was drinking last week I’ll be buying them the same this weekend

 

Going for the triple crown today, Statler-Waldorf Cup and Dusty Cup from two seasons ago and the Sandy Cup would make three trophies in three seasons in this awesome league. C’mon you Gunners, win big for Arsene’s last game for Arsenal with at least a hat-trick each from Aubameyang & Lacazette and take my fantasy team to glory

Slow start for my squad but now there’s life with a goal from Aubameyang, keep it up!

 

Congrats to Cribmad, winner of the 2017-2018 Sandy Cup! My squad tried to keep it close but my triple captain Lacazette couldn’t score vs Huddersfield which made the difference. At least they finish with a win for Wenger in his last match for Arsenal

 

Thanks to all participants of the Sandy Cup, was definitely a short but exciting tournament. Have a good offseason to all in the All Rocks league and looking forward to next season in a few months
