http://www.espnfc.us/world-cup-qual...t-uss-world-cup-qualifier-vs-honduras-sources Will it be a difficult ticket? An incentive to sell 2017 San Jose season tickets?
I went to the (last?) US-Honduras WCQ at Rio Tinto -- Rio Tinto normally has great fan atmosphere, but this game was off the charts. Maybe ours will even top the Stanford game for local soccer event of the year.
Perhaps we could get Muma to hobnob with the Hondurans if there are any that would be a fit for our team.
As I recall the Hondurans, including Muma, trained at the Quakes' practice field prior to playing at Rio Tinto during the last go-round.
Other than against Mexico (for which Levi's Stadium would likely be used instead), Avaya Stadium is the perfect Bay Area location to host World Cup Qualifying games. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! GO USA!!! -G
Having been to the Mexico-Chile epic blowout at Levi's last summer -- I'm glad it was held in a stadium where there's plenty of room to dodge whatever is being hurled by fans. Avaya is a little too cozy for that kind of game.
Any insights on how tickets will be distributed? Will season ticket holders get their seats, get a priority to purchase or just be thrown into the mix with everyone else?
Who needs a wall when you've got a jacket with a hood? We've never been offered our moat seats. In fact, when sales open, those seats are almost always unavailable.
Great way to reward your most loyal and financially supportive fans -- give their seats away! Is this another great marketing tactic Kaval learned at Stanford?
I read on the Quakes' Reddit site that in Columbus for the Mexico game Crew season ticketholders were given pre-sale opportunity. So there's some hope, albeit unlikely for our usual seats or usual prices.
This is a massive opportunity for San Jose to shine on a national scale, possibly world wide. All eyes will be on this match and if we turn Avaya into a raving lunatic asylum, a writhing cauldron of US fanatics, we're sure to get another game in a decade or two.
Awesome news! Will be nice to see Avaya loud and boisterous for a change. That is, unless a bunch of rich hoity-toities buy up most of the seats and price out passionate supporters. I expect there to be a large number of Honduras supporters there too. Should be a fantastic atmosphere! I hope I can snag some tickets.
brings back memories. Good thing .. jersey probably doesn't fit anymore http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads...ernárdez-thread.1874258/page-19#post-31433670
Hopefully they plan on adding a lot of seats! 19k is too small of a stadium to really give the home team an advantage.
They will likely want to offer them to Quakes season ticket holders to ensure a pro-US crowd, so I think we are safe in assuming we will be offered (outrageously priced) tickets before anyone else.
