San José catching up in this season's California Clásico chase?

Los Angeles securing its hold on this year's Clásico?

The Earthquakes keeping the California Clásico title for a second consecutive season? The Galaxy regaining the Clásico title after a year without it?

    Discuss.

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!!

I have to think this is a must-win game and I hope someone has conveyed that message to Stahre. The same old stuff is going to cut it for this game.

I'm not sure that leadership takes our team seriously enough for them to understand the concept of a must win game. I'm sure they've been told about the rivalry between our clubs, but until you live it, it's hard to fully grasp.

We'll get ripped, the fans will be pissed, and then Stahre and Jesse will begin to get a handle on how serious this is.

    Go Quakes!!
    Fire Stahre!!

Jesse Fioranelli was here for last season's Clasico games. He's lived it.

Sure. Do you think he has tried to impress on Stahre that this might be the most important game of the year? And if so, do you think that Stahre gets that?

We'll see, but I'm expecting another lackluster effort.

    Go Quakes!!
    Fire Stahre!!

Over/Under on quakes players making the All Star team?

    I say 1 in Hoesen.
Maybe a commissioners pick on Wondo out of respect if no quake gets selected.

IMO.......Commissioner/MLS would never pick Wondo out of respect, since they don't respect him. MLS is scared to use Wondo's image because they are afraid the average fan will see him and think "that's they guy that missed the easy shot in the World Cup" and that would harm MLS.....MLS want little to nothing to do with the Quakes. MLS spends way too much time catering to the soccer mom/dad/kids and not to die hard fans...

It's win or walk time, if we don't win Fioranelli and Stahre should walk, or more precisely, be given their walking papers. Nothing less than a win will suffice, no more excuses damn it!

A win at the Classico is the only thing we have to look forward to. A very sad, pathetic season.

    A reminder:
Is mobile ticketing available for this game?
    • No, mobile ticketing will not be an option for the California Clasico at Stanford Stadium. Please bring your physical ticket to secure a quick entry! Be sure to print your tickets at home by FRIDAY, June 29!

Also confirmed with the account rep that Caltrains will stop at Stanford Station this Sat.
Our team website only mentions Palo Alto.

How about the Quakes just play better soccer and not worry about the ref.?

Oh no Jose Carlos Rivero is our CR. Worst ref in MLS, in my opinion. Someone will get hurt.

That's a great notion, but watch a game where there's a top team (any league, I don't care which) against a mid to lower level team. The top team will get away with a ton of fouls that the other side gets called for. There is a tendency for refs to assume that the top level teams either don't commit fouls, or commit fewer fouls.

So in our case, almost every other team in the league will get the benefit of the doubt from the refs, while we will get the short end of the stick.

The refs won't be kind to us, whether we deserve it or not. The way to change that of course, is to get better. Sadly, that seems to be beyond our leadership's capabilities.

    Go quakes!!

If top teams don't get called as much it is because they are playing better soccer and don't need to foul as much to disrupt their opponents.

I think you are just carrying the Quakes inferiority/persecution complex a little too heavily.;)
