No, another loss, sorry guys, we may have a great coach and we haven't done enough retooling the roster to truly be competitive, whether at home or on the road. And our coach, so far, still keeps trotting out out the same starting 11, with the same results. Color me unimpressed, so far, and I would love to be surprised. Hope, however, is not a strategy
4-0 LAFC and their supporters out number our entire crowd Not a STH this year but we’ll be at this one for sh*ts & giggles...
All the communications from players and coach is that it takes more time to learn this system. I think Almeyda said a couple months, Kashia said as much as 11 games, Lima said as much as half a season. So I’m going with Lima on half a season and I’ll assume we won’t win a game until the team is actually playing the way they’re supposed to be. We might get a lucky win or draw but I think we need more than luck against LAFC.
It's just their nice way of saying that this is another rebuilding year, I'm so sick of that party line bullshit.
I hope less than 5k people show up for this stinker, 4k of them lafc fans. Maybe that will wake the front office out of their lethargy.
Not seeing any way we win this. I watch other teams, I know some of you do not. 0-4 almost guaranteed.
Except that we’re not even rebuilding. We’ve already lost our first 3 after winning just 4 all of last season, the primary transfer window is open until May 7 and we’re talking about possibly, maybe doing something in the summer!? Knowing that “learning the system” means another season is literally over before it started!? I’d be delighted if I saw any serious effort to rebuild. What we’re doing is called languishing.
I agree with most of what you said except this part. I think we really are learning a system that is, from what I hear, unusual and difficult. From a business stand point I'm not sure going down this path was the smartest thing (maybe pick an easier system and try to get some wins earlier in the season considering what we went through last year?) but here we are - possibly past the point of return. I say let the team learn the system and please, please, get some top quality players. Yes, we're going to lose a lot of games, but maybe we'll see it come together before the end of the season. I hope.
I too watch other teams. I have LAFC winning the west this year. They pretty much look like the class of MLS. But hey we almost beat Atlanta last year so you never know!
If you’ve been awful every year since 2012 and then you cap it off with a wooden spoon performance last year winning a grand total of 4 (!) games and then, do next to nothing in the offseason to bring in the players you need, deny the coaches request for the players he wants and lose your first three of the current season and, despite the transfer window being open until May, you say you’re going to wait and see if maybe the summer will be a better time to add players, you’re languishing, stuck in the basement, no hope whatsoever...the laughingstock of the league, getting left behind by all the expansion teams, shown up on every level for as long as anyone can remember. Quakes are an embarrassment to this community.
The thing is , with a few wins, the season is far from lost. I’m afraid though with too many losses , the players and coaches will lose confidence and I really don’t see any sign of improvement.
