Dillon Keane is back from Stoke.... From this thread... Yesterday at 1:35 PM New He returned to San Jose Earthquakes http://sjeq.ussoccerda.com/sam/teams/index.php?team=12079820
Pretty good start to the season in LA today against the Galaxy. U-15s Quakes 4 Galaxy. 1 U-17s Quakes 1 Galaxy. 1 U-19s Quakes 2 Galaxy. 2 Also, I’m wondering where Cade Cowell is at. Homegrowns Fuentes and Akanyirige played against the Galaxy.
Academy results in LA on Sunday: U-15s Quakes 4 Patedores 0 U-17s Quakes 5 Patedores 1 U-19s Quakes 2 Patedores 2 This weekend's games were part of qualification for the DA Cup. I'm projecting it will take 9 or 10 points to qualify so I'd say the U-15s have an excellent chance with 6 points in 2 games. U-17s are in very good position with 4 points but the U-19s will need to get some wins soon with only 2 points. Next Saturday the teams are on the road again with qualification games in Davis against Sac Republic.
Branden Zelaya and Casey Walls called into 2003 national camp. I’m wondering why 2003 Cade Cowell was not. Is he injured? Haven’t seen him play for months in Reno.
Also of note from the 03 age group, Fynn Hayton-Ruffner is back with San Jose Earthquakes Academy (@QuakesAcademy). He scored over the weekend for the U19 side. He is a top prospect and going to be in the mix with the YNT in the future.— J.R. Eskilson (@JREskilson) September 23, 2019
Looks like our academy may end up at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds. Our old friend Cindy Chavez is pushing to keep the fairground an open space event center. https://www.mercurynews.com/2019/10...-county-fairgrounds-gets-supervisors-support/
So a world class Cricket stadium or the Quakes soccer academy. The rest of the land would go to public use. My guess is the lease will go to the highest bidder. I know they say they have to evaluate the needs of the city and changing face of the residents and all that blah blah blah. In the end it's always the money. So who's it worth more to?
The Fairgrounds are huge. A cricket grounds and a Quakes academy could both be accommodated with acreage to spare.
The community needs more fields anyway. The Quakes’ U-15 and U-17 boys teams are traveling today to Kansas to play in Generation Adidas Tournament qualifying games. SKC is hosting the first round games at their soccer park. The Quakes will travel to the Galaxy Soccer Park in February for the second round. Sure would be nice if San Jose had a facility to host events like this including national team camps (that Carson California always seems to get). There is a soccer park down in Morgan Hill that is used sometimes but it is not nearly as convenient as having one in a central location like the Fairgrounds.

As stated in the 2020 thread , we need one of these guys to finally grow up to the big leagues! After 10 years, isn't it time sthey step it up? Mar 4, 2010
Yes, upon more careful reading I see that they have 158 acres and they will set aside 55 acres for a park. For the remaining 103 acres they have "a long list of options". Two of those options are a cricket stadium and the quakes academy. A third option they mentioned is a county park.
Our U-17s fall to Minnesota in penalty kicks following the 0-0 draw.We salvage 1 point from the PK loss.#VamosSJ pic.twitter.com/8xNlq9A7bW— Quakes Academy (@QuakesAcademy) October 11, 2019 Quakes dominated possession but looks like they have the same problem the 1st team does, scoring goals.
Our U-15s secure a 3-1 win over Minnesota United. Tomorrow ➡️ LA Galaxy#VamosSJ | #GACup pic.twitter.com/CXiBk48tAM— Quakes Academy (@QuakesAcademy) October 11, 2019
Center midfield was totally disconnected. Minnesota United is the weakest team in Quakes pool and they got 2 points to Quakes 1.
I think our U-15s is where it’s at. WHAT A COUNTER ATTACK!We extend our lead to 2-0! #BeatLA pic.twitter.com/52jcssuToQ— Quakes Academy (@QuakesAcademy) October 12, 2019
GOLAZO!!! Quakes up 3-1!#BeatLA pic.twitter.com/eq8vXDNMo4— Quakes Academy (@QuakesAcademy) October 12, 2019
If anyone is bored on their lunch hour tomorrow (Tues) I heard that the Quakes U-19s will be playing the De Anza Force at Avaya Stadium tomorrow at noon. Gilbert Fuentes and Jacob Akanyinge played this Saturday against Sac Republic so I think it’s likely they will play tomorrow. Casey Walls will likely wear the captain’s armband.
Big comeback win for the Quake’s U-17s against LAFC in LA today. They were down 2-0 at halftime and ended up winning 3-2. The victory means the team advances to the second round of the DA Cup in Florida in December ( joining the U-19s that have also qualified). The U-15s did not fair as well and lost 4-0 to LAFC. That means that the Quake’s U-15s finish second to LAFC in the California bracket (no Cup competition at the under 15 level, just bragging rights for winning your group)
Quakes U-17s are playing today at Avaya Stadium at 12 if anyone wants to watch. They will be playing Crossfire Premier from Washington State. The under 17s have won 4 games in a row over De Anza Force, Sac Republic, LAFC and yesterday over the Vancouver Whitecaps. A win today would probably see them in first place in their division.
Wasn't it both Brian Ching and Rico who had a disdain towards Quakes fans when the Dynamo returned to play the Quakes in San Jose?
