Just curious, are there still a lot of foreign amateur teams in and around Boston? I remember there use to be quite a few but that was like 15-20 years ago...there are still a few in the San Francisco Bay Area but not as many as there use to be.
But the NASL (in other words, the other owners) are going to finance all these NPSL teams until they find those angel investors! Sounds like a plan.
That was point. NASL should have had these letters signed and a solid plan in place by June. That's assuming these letters are legit.
I have lived here for 8 years. Just south and on the coast. From what I have seen the outskirts of the city here is a mish mosh of ethnicities. Brazilians are the most dominant. Many clubs carry ethnic names, but really don't represent those ethicities in make up. West of the city, Newton/Somerville, that could be different. Nothing like a NYC or LA....that is for certain. I just know about Boston FC because of a business connection. Family type operation. I can't imagine what it would take for them to move, secure a stadium and cover all of those costs necessary.....but the people running it right now aren't doing it, unless there is some unkown uncle ready to pop out of a rabbit hole somewhere.
Oh, no question it was cheaper and that was likely the deal. But what about their vaunted transparency?
I mean they've already admitted the next home game is their final game. Doesn't get more transparent than that.
Because it's over anyway. There's no next year. There's no sweet memories. I'm sure people had things to do. The whole thing was just a market test that didn't work out.
On the NASL Reddit page it shows that the Deltas are reporting 2,402 for the attendance at Boxer Stadium last Wednesday. I counted less than 80 but maybe I just wasn't paying attention.
...or maybe outside of a few of us idiots on the net no one else. They could have said 5K and it wouldn't have mattered.
It just seems weird because they seem to have been very honest in their attendance reporting to this point. I went to a couple of games where it seemed like more were there than reported attendance. To out of the blue report a number 30 times the actual attendance and larger than many games reported at Kezar just looks like someone in the office grabbed a number out of the air, or maybe that the NASL just put a number in themselves approximating the clubs season average, since the Deltas had gone 5 days without reporting.

Don't know where they got the number. There is none reported by the NASL: http://www.nasl.com/match-center/1480/sfd-vs-mia
2402 was the attendance for the game against Puerto Rico on 10/14. They have erroneously attributed that number to the Miami game as well.

Delta Force people saying on their social media just now that SF Deltas FO has announced that 10/28 home game vs JAX has 9K tickets confirmed, with 500 left to go. Interesting indeed.
