I think it's funny, this idea that the Deltas can issue a "detailed, five-year plan" when the last plan they issued was, "Only you can fix this, start bringing your friends."

Well they did prior to the loss of D2. They'd have been penalized otherwise. Now nothing is keeping them if the loss of D2 holds. Which given they're back to 8 teams (possibly 7 given PRFC's dire situation)... seems likely. USSF was completely justified in pulling sanctioning.
Yep. The only question seems to be whether according to US law the USSF has the ability to create division standards and enforce them. If they do, I don't see where NASL has a leg to stand on.
Multiple teams sign LOIs for 2018 NASL season League may start with as many as 17 teams https://www.soctakes.com/2017/10/16/multiple-teams-sign-lois-2018-nasl-season/ ........YOU were all saying now........
Now we know WHY the USSF was quick to deny NASL D2 status. They had to see this coming, and didn't want their MLS-USL closed system gravy train threatened. This definitely helps to convince either the current or potentially new SF Deltas ownership to bite the bullet and stick it out for NASL 2018. If so, the West would have SF, OC, SD, FCA...all close by, helping travel costs. The fact that these LOIs are from current NPSL teams helps, as they are already established, just upgrading to higher level. Rocco now with this bit of news is going to have a field day in Brooklyn Fed court.
Okay I'll bite. The USSF gave them temporary D2 status in 2017 with 8 teams but denied them D2 knowing the NASL had a plan for 17 teams in 2018? Is that your statement?
Heads up, if anyone cares. The Deltas are apparently playing the rescheduled home game against Miami on Wednesday, October 18th at Boxer Stadium at 2 PM: SAN FRANCISCO DELTAS VS Miami FC Competition REGULAR SEASON Date Wed, October 18 Time 2:00 PM Location BOXER STADIUM http://www.sfdeltas.com/schedule
Keep going, guy. Looks like real information is trickling out from back East, I presume. I'm looking at the timeline with this new bit of information. Glad those other folks back there are putting out credible news.
Oh, the fact they're "established teams" helps? They're NPSL teams that have been around for an hour and a half. Just upgrading? Do you have a frigging clue how big the leap is from amateur to D2? My God, man. Are you Falvo's cousin?
Most are NPSL sides...that's just reeking of desperation right there. NPSL sides are generally money losing hobby teams for modestly wealthy guys who have neither the financial resources nor will to run a D2 or D3 side. Basically your standard "we'll be in MLS someday" guys who have no clue what that actually takes. And clearly none of them are set to play in '18 based on what was reported earlier.
Wow, they may have their first sub-100 game just in time to fold. A Wed afternoon game at a stadium few other few regular attendees are familiar with. Why play at all?
