I am not saying they should exclusively be Salvi American but I thought they would have a few more than they have now.

Also of course I don’t want our players aiming for the Npsl as I said before any league that isn’t MLS shouldn’t be a place our players go in the USA. The NPSL isn’t even scouted

You can list him but not as a pro, players like this disappear all the time. You should just wait IMO.. if he signs directly with Leganes B in the future then I say list him.

Rivas looks pretty good and I remember that he had a good season last year too, I say he deserves a call up for at least a friendly. I say we should list Portillo he will never play for the USA and we don't even know if our federation approached him yet.

In that case, no. I prefer to maintain Cusca’s policy of only including players in professional sides; so that excludes Granitto and Corea.

Whats even better is these guys are very young and defenders, which has been our weak points since 1998 squad, Bryan Tamacas (23 years old), Ivan Barahona (23 years old) and Roberto Dominguez (21 years old).

Well just like that Tony Rugamas will no longer be heading to Honduras due to family reason.
Also forgot to mention both Bryan Tamacas and Roberto Dominguez will not be joining MLS and will ehad back to Santa Tecla.

We need our players playing abroad and need to be aiming at higher level, alot f criticism of country that failed miseable was their comfortability in playing in safe leagues.

Salvadorans Abroad as of July 16, 2018:

    AFC
    Thailand
    Nelson Bonilla - Sukhothai FC

    CONCACAF

    Guatemala
    Jaime Alas - CD Municipal
Josue Odir Flores - Coban Imperial
    Alexander Larin - Comunicaciones

    USA - MLS
    Arturo Alvarez - Houston Dynamo
    Darwin Ceren - Houston Dynamo
    Andres Flores - Portland Timbers
    USA - USL
Nelson Blanco - North Carolina FC
Juan Herrera-Perla - Las Vegas Lights
    Richard Menjivar - Penn FC
Joaquin Rivas - Tulsa Roughnecks FC
Christian Rodriguez - Tulsa Roughnecks FC
Tomas Romero - Bethlehem Steel FC

    UEFA
    Iceland
    Derby Carrillo - IBV
    Pablo Punyed - KR Reykjavík
    Portugal
    Denis Pineda - Santa Clara

Such a quiet list, such a disappointment, especially since the start of the transfer window their was up to 15 players playing abroad from MLS, South America, Honduras, Asia and Mexico. Sigh only move was Odir Flores from Guastatoya to Coban Imperial.

Romero (American-born) has been called up to ES U-17’s squad recently and played alongside Alexis Cerritos. He’s also the youngest goalkeeper to have played in the USL. He’s still only 17, so I don’t think he’ll replace Hernandez, Carrillo or Villalobos anytime soon.

Rodriguez (also American-born) was one of those potential wonderkids because he was a Lyon and Groningen junior (up until an apparent life-changing moment in Netherlands that made him return to USA). Has played for both ES U-17 and U-20 sides.

Rivas has expressed interest in representing ES in the past.

    Menjivar is Menjivar.

Don’t know anything about Blanco or Herrera.

Should we really add USL guys? I know it is technically 2nd division by default (thanks NASL) but let’s be honest it’s 3rd/4th division at best.

USL is a professional league, and players from that league often receive call-ups to the Selecta, so I don’t see why it should be excluded.

The rule (which was passed down from the old mod) was that only players in professional leagues should be listed. USL fits the criteria.

EDIT: USA’s lower divisions can absolutely act as a stepping stone towards a greater league. Where did Ruso, Ceren and Carrillo play before they moved to MLS or Europe? USL and NASL.
