That whole scenario is ridiculous/funny. Juarez already annouced Larin as a player of theirs. Then Pohl comes out and says nothing has been done, amd in fact says he doesnt want to let anyone go, especially Larin. Tbh, if Pohl were to leave I think it would be the best for ES soccer.
That whole situation is tricky. From what's come out he is still under contract by Tigre's until 2019 shocking for a Salvadoran player abroad to be contracted this long I know. But then again there was the case with Rafa and he never ended up being used by that Austrian club. But these last few years they've somewhat left him to his own devices, so I take it everyone thought the contract had expired this year, this would explain him re-upping with Alianza. Now if he is still under contract by Tigre's I would assume this could make the Alianza contract null and void but at the same time Tigres could just end the contract and not bother (worst case scenario).
Theres something Im honestly wondering. Why do we continue to call up USL players? And if we do, why dont we call up other players in the USL that have a chance at playing for ES? Some of these players are performing bettwr right now anyways...
Hahaha, here we go. Called it... http://www.laprensagrafica.com/2017/06/13/equipo-colombiano-tiene-en-la-mira-a-alexander-larin
As much as we are being sold how "good" our players are doing in the Gold Cup, it's very interesting to see that there are no rumors of anybody going abroad due to their performance on said tournament. I mean the market window is wide open now so they could pretty much sign for anybody, still not even rumors. I think that is a bad sign of things to come... P.S: I posted here since I want to talk about player abroad/going abroad.
Yeah yeah, cyprus, iraq and uzbekistan will come knocking soon. I think this gold cup is going to help the case for players like bonilla and pineda if they so happen keep up their form abroad. Maybe even fito... but ill wait for something concrete then speculate.
I think an issue arising is that a lot of these potential guys are in Alianza and Pohl has shown to be a difficult person to deal with at the negotiating table.

Now this one I would treat with cautious optimism since we all saw what happened last time. El seleccionado 🇸🇻 Gerson Mayén se va a Cafetaleros de Tapachula del ascenso 🇲🇽 . Would be cool to see him get the opportunity but if I'm being brutally honest, he is not a guy that I can see succeeding abroad. Hope that I'm wrong because i have been following this guy since his days at Chivas USA.
The team made it official 5 days ago on twitter. Theyve played 3 games, not a single point. 2 goals for, 9 against. Uuuf Santamaria is 26. He can still provide for the NT. Wonder if Lara has any plans to call him in

Dustin Corea's team could potentially leave NASL to join CPL. Hopefully this is true. Reports circling that @FCEdmontonNow have informed @naslofficial of their intent to leave & join @CPLsoccer #CanPL— Canucks Abroad (@Canucks_Abroad) October 15, 2017
The NASL should disband. It'll stop our players from going to that 'league' BTW, the regular USL season is over. Playoffs are next. Teams in playoffs that have a Salvadoran player or one who could play for ES are : Reno FC- Junior Burgos Tulsa Roughnecks- Joaquin Rivas Bethlehem Steel- Tomas Romero Charleston Battery- Justin Portillo Other USL teams who have a Salvadoran in the USL but didn't make playoffs: Timbers 2- Tomas Granitto Orange County SC- Oscar Sorto
Probably not, but I was mostly happy about CPL finally happening, and taking in the Canadian teams that play in US leagues. Romilio Hernandez plays for Phoenix Rising, and are in the playoffs too. I'm not sure if Portillo has expressed interest in representing ES, that's why I haven't included him in the official Salvadorans Abroad list.
Oops, my bad. He's only played 2 games, but he is still there. He has shown no interest, but he has the blood in him. Put his name out there based on that tbh
Salvadorans Abroad USL (including potential players) Oscar Sorto 28 app-27 starts-2258 mins for OCFC Junior Burgos 18 app-5 starts-1goal-641 mins for Reno Thomas Granitto 20 app-19 starts-1573 mins for Timbers 2 Tomas Romero 7 app-7 starts-630 mins for Bethlehem Steel (crazy for a 16yr old) Joaquin Rivas 33 app-28 starts-5 goals-2495 mins for Tulsa Justin Portillo 33 app-33 starts-6 goals-2970 mins for Charleston Battery Romilio Hernandez 2 app-2 starts-113 mins for Phoenix Rising Rivas and Portillo seem like solid players tbh.
Salvadorans Abroad NASL players Dustin Corea 22 app-18 starts-6 goals-4 assists-1520 mins for FC Edmonton Richard Menjivar 5 app-4 starts-268 mins for NY Cosmos Andres Flores 25 app-23 starts-2 goals-4 assists-2092 mins for NY Cosmos Irvin Herrera 13 app-7 starts-2 goals-1 assists-579 mins for NY Cosmos Herrera should have never left SLFC after that monster season that he had and Corea needs to leave Edmonton now especially since the new Canadian League will be a step down in quality, him and Richard need to leave for the USL.
Just notes on these two guys Renato Punyed 5 app-4 starts-1 goal-308 mins for IR(Icelandic 2nd division on loan from IBV) not bad considering that he was loaned late and it's his debut pro season. Amando Moreno 5 app-4 starts-1 goal-273 mins for Dorados(Ascenso MX on loan from Tijuana) still think that he is promising and he has no chance for the USA or Mex at this time or in the near future.
His Numbers are good just hope that he doesn't sign with another NASL team. I can see Herrera returning to STL and Menjivar getting dropped by the Cosmos.
