MLS recap Eriq Zavaleta started and played the full 90 for Toronto in their 2-0 win Arturo Alvarez started but only played 15 mins because one of their defenders got an early Red Card and he got subbed out for another defender, Chicago went on to get stomped 4-0. Darwin Ceren went as an unused sub again for San Jose in their 2-1 loss to SKC (hopefully he can get traded to a team that can actually use him like Houston, because even if his coach gets sacked he still won't start over Anibal Godoy)
Only place I see Ceren going to is Minnesota. Old coach is there, theyre struggling a lot. I doubt he moves though
Punyed played in the 4-0 loss to KR, Derby was on the bench. Pineda played in Santa Clara 2-0 over Braga B he has started in four of the last five games so he is finally starting to break through. Lester has been injured so that's why news on him is scare but his club finally got on the winning track after going in a slump. San Carlos defeated Belen 2-1, also it sounds like the club has picked up popularity as indicated by strong jersey sales competing with the big 3. Jaime started in Municipal 1-0 win over Deportivo Carcha. So Bonilla still MIA in the 1-1 draw over in Turkey. Man he should have stayed in Portugal and tried his luck in the second division.
21 year old Renato Punyed, younger brother of Pablo, has signed with IBV in Iceland, and thus will be joining both Pablo and Derby Carrillo. He's also expressed interest in representing El Salvador. Renato Punyed, un nuevo salvadoreño se suma a la UEFA
Somebody needs to call the police. Both Denis Pineda and Nelson Bonilla have gone missing. Wherever they may be I hope they are safe...
Wasn't Pineda called up to these games? If so it would make sense why he didn't play. Yes Pineda was called up so they choose to rest him, Bonilla is a ghost at this point.
I had thought Bonilla would be smarter than to rush things. He didnt even wait a season, and jumped ship. Now he doesnt even get bench in the second divison of Turkey. Ridiculous.
Arturo Alvarez stats 4 games played/ 4 started/ 1 goal/ 224 mins Darwin Ceren stats 2 games played/2 started/ 180 mins Darwin starting to turn it around.
16 year old Tomas Romero is the youngest goalkeeper to make his debut in the USL. He plays for Bethlehem Steel and also represents El Salvador U-17. Portero salvadoreño hace historia en USL
Jaime Alas is champion with Rojos in Guatemala. He contributed an assist This is Municipal's 30th championship and first in 6 years.
Some spares updates incoming I'll begin with the biggest one. Kevin Santamaria has finished serving his suspension and has signed with Suchitepequez the Guatemalan club where he got his start abroad, some rumors had him tied with Municipal (not sure why because they left him and that other group of players high and dry). Lester Blanco should be heading back to El Salvador now this story should have been posted months back but yeah we just haven't been as active outside of the LMF thread. But unfortunately San Carlos ended up being relegated despite being up 1-0 close to the finishing they gave up four goals ending there run in the top flight. Lester didn't get much playing time after being injured for a good portion of the season. Dennis Pineda has resigned with Santa Clara currently the best prospect we have good for him. They finished tenth on the table with 61 points the top two finished in the 80s. He fought for starting time but looked to have snatched back that spot in the later run of the season. Nelson is currently a mystery of getting little to no playing time in the Turkish second division (his club saved themselves from being relegated) he should be heading back to Portugal deal is Nacional is now in the second division as well. Question is will he tough it out with the Portuguese club or will he look for another loan this summer will be key the other thing will be if he will be in the GC roster (it should be a given that he makes it.) Pablo Punyed has been a main starter for IBV and has just recently opened up his scoring account. He scored against KH Reykjavik in the Icelandic Cup, and more recently scored the lone goal in the unfortunate 4-1 route against IA Akranes. Derby has been on the bench who knows if this string of tough results will thrust him back in the starting line up. AA has been relegated to the bench now he's pretty much coming in during the dying minutes of games. Darwin has reclaimed a starting spot and has been playing full games so far, my concern is Dom style of ball is pretty uninspiring and simplistic to watch. Don't really keep up with the guys in the NASL, USL don't think I need to they should be pushing themselves instead of being lax.
Gosh you gave me a heart attack for a second there. Funny how resign and re-sign mean two different things. That's the English language for you.
According to Diaro Marca of Spain both Oscar Ceren and Alex Larin are on the Radar of some MLS teams for this upcoming transfer window. could be something but could be nothing http://www.marca.com/futbol/estados-unidos/2017/05/06/590d8e2fe2704ea51d8b465f.html
Two things either it's just the usual rumors or it will fall through due to Pohl wanting more money for them.
Id go with the latter, though the way they stacked themselves Alianze wouldnt hurt too bad by letting them go
Meanwhile Nelson Bonilla has confirmed he will be leaving Gaziantep BB , he said he will continue in europe options including going back to Nacional in portugal External Links: http://www.elgrafico.com/2017/05/30/nelson-bonilla-no-seguira-en-gaziantep-de-turquia Meanwhile Jaime Alas has attracted interest from Saprissa, especially after his good season with Municipal helping them win their 30th title in their history External links: http://www.elgrafico.com/2017/05/30/jaime-alas-podria-recalar-en-el-saprissa-de-costa-rica
With the summer transfer window here I wonder when the talk of one of our guys going to Colombia will begin...
Those of you watching LMF, who do you think deserves to go abroad? Perhaps Zelaya or anyone from Santa Tecla?
Cant say i watched too regularly, but the names are usually the same. Zelaya, ceren, larin, benji, mayen, dominguez, tamacas, and sosa were all good bets to have some sort of offers. A couple of one season wonders as well
Players that defintley deserve to be playing abroad Rodolfo Zelaya Gerson Mayen Bryan Tamacas Juan Barahona Roberto Dominguez Herbert Sosa Alexander Larin Miguel Lemus Players to watch maybe with a bit more experience Rudy Clavel Oscar Rodriguez Fernando Castillo Brayan Landaverde José Castellón Gustavo Vega
If Larin goes to Mexico, it would be a good move for him. Yes it is second division, but, it is at a higher level than the Salvadorean league. I hope he does go, he is one of only a handful of players from El Salvador that could succeed abroad. When is Bonilla announcing his return to Salvadorean soccer?
