Should update that list. The Iraq players are back with their teams in ES, Granitto is no longer a swopes player.
Hopefully we can add Tamacas and Dominguez to the list soon.

Oh? Do you have a source for the Iraq players and Granitto not being with their clubs any longer?

Junior Flores signs 3 year deal with MLS and will be part of the allocation process most likely to land with Minnesota, Houston or Columbus.

Iran is an AFC powerhouse (along with South Korea, Japan and Australia), so the Iranian league will be a much better move than to Iraq.

Does he play Winger or Holding Midfielder? Because i don't think that he will see much minutes with Houston.

This is why I didn't post the original rumours about Flores going to MLS. The rumours are just that; rumours.

Still hope he leaves BVB II. Should've left a year ago tbh.

Can't we have a separate thread for American Salvadorians. I know there isn't much going on in these threads these days but there info should still stay among those interested in them. Not to make to big a thing about it but this place is loaded with info about American players it doesn't need one more

We had the Salvadoran Yanks thread a few years back and that thread was quiet. There are always going to be members here who want to discuss Flores and Perez, as well as other Salvadorans-Americans. Discussion will never truly cease, so I say we might as well let people discuss them here if they want; the players in question just won't be mentioned in the official Salvadorans Abroad list.

After all, the players discussed are eligible to represent El Salvador. Also, it's not like it's a regular occurrence.

As for there being threads elsewhere in BS, that is true but people would clearly rather discuss it with fellow Salvadorans than with non-Salvadorans.

The most consistent poster of Salvadorian Americans is you why can't you just start your own thread for it like previous mods have done with their own personal interests. That is a subgroup not really related to this topic.

The fact the Salvadorian American thread was quite should tell you something but if it's interesting to you then have at but why does it have to be here?

It's annoying seeing a new post on here thinking something new has happened and it's just another Junior Flores story in this case a nonstory which again can be found in several places and though he is technically eligible to play for us several things would have to happen for that to be the case over several years so let's have some criteria for whose discussed on here as is traditionally the case. Technically you could be capped by the national team someday but the criteria has always been a bit more on point then that for a reason

Look who was the first to mention Flores ITT. It wasn't me, which shows I'm not the only one who cares. After the Salvadoran Yanks thread died, there has continued to be talks about Salvadoran-Americans (not by me) in both the Salvadorans Abroad thread and the National Team thread. Remember there was a Salvadoran-Canadian member here who briefly posted weekly updates on Zavaleta at Toronto FC. Roldan keeps getting mentioned too.

Basically, if I don't discuss it, someone else will. There's the random football thread where it should be discussed but people continue to discuss it in these threads.

If that's the case just move the post to the random thoughts thread. Also tag the poster and let them know accordingly.

Also post the note in the first post of the thread.

I agree with grimm you could fix that easily by moving the posts and discussion were it needs to be. There are about 8 posters if I am being generous that seem to regularly discuss American Salvadorians on here over the years so yeah you aren't the only one but that number even if we are being generous isn't enough to change the criteria of this thread

Yeah I was literally about to edit my post saying I'll move them to the random thoughts thread. Better that than telling people to stop posting about it altogether. This section is quiet enough as it is, so I think we should welcome the discussion somehow.

Good idea about posting the note in OP, btw. I'm eating lunch ATM so I'll do it later.

Well let's be honest given the ineptitude of the Feds and our abroad players just not stepping up and being okay staying in mediocre leagues (NASL, USL) not much to talk about. It's disappointing but it's the truth.

Edited OP with the note. Yeah it seems people aren't interested in discussing the NASL and USL, as evident in the 2016 Edition compared to 2015 and 2014 editions; when more players were in Scandinavia and elsewhere in Europe than USA.

It didn't help that last year was the worst period for our NT in a while. Really could use some wins this year. Hopefully the demise of NASL means our players will play elsewhere. Honestly am not too fussed about USL because there's that chance of going to MLS. Albeit a small chance.

Our abroads is always gonna be quiet. Sadly the way it is. Our boys need to step up first, then we might get something.

Side note: i think we have 3 players in our league who should be abroad but arent. Mayen, Benji, and Rugamas.
The first two for obvious reasons (being the best/consistent players in the league for a year minimum, i think theyve been the better players for 3 short tournaments) and Rugamas because hes good, but iraq was a bad league to play in. He even left early because they didnt pay him.

As long as we regularly posted updates and discussions, the threads were alive without issue, despite our lack of members and players abroad to talk about.

The problem now is a lack of interest due to most of our players playing in boring leagues that no one wants to follow, and our NT playing badly.

I don't think that is the whole story. There is also social media which I am sure most of us follow that makes it easier to keep track of these guys when I joined Twitter and Facebook weren't that good for keeping track of them now they are better than this place for it.

Also the fed and club owners/presidents being in the dark ages even though we live in the information age. I mean we now have a player playing in the Portugués first division unfortunately it's not going great but players have gotten their own threads around here having done less in the past. I can't say I blame people for not being interested in Salvadorian football anymore things are awful and show no signs of improving

Well, it got hard tonpost updates when there was no way to look at the leagues. Portugal and MLS amd Guatemala were easy, but Iraq and Iceland? Hell no
