All I hope for in 2016 is no more signings for US 3rd or 4th divisions being toasted on as if they were a step forwards, they are not. Tired of players leaving leagues like the Hungarian or Romanian to go play for a semi pro team in the U. S. I know those leagues in Europe are not the biggest, but like Iceland all those national teams doing well will mean more eyes on them. Any ways here is to a 2016 full of success for our players!!!!!!

I wish but Herrera heading to St. Louis is not helping things.

    That's not official yet, though.

Hey, I wonder what's going on with AA and Carillo. I hope they get with a club ASAP, they've pretty much wasted half a year.

AA is an idiot for coming back to the states.

As for Derby dude has been MIA ever since the last article that mentioned his trial.

I was under the impression that Carillo has been training with the Israeli club all this time, in preparation for when the next transfer window opens. That's what I hope anyway.

Gian Tapia is on try outs with Santa Tecla along with a Mexican goalie. So if he was going to be on this list he should be no longer be considered I guess...

Not that he was considered before, since he was playing at semi-pro level, but if he does come to Santa Tecla, he'd be on the same boat as his new Salvadoran-American teammates Gerson Mayen and Miguel Palafox, plus Derby Carillo before he went AWOL.

Do you have a source for this, btw?

Twitter and fame gets to La Selcta's head...AA thought he was Ronaldo....Derby thought he was Navas. oh well at least they tried.

I hope players like Jairo & Pena really give it there all. They are young and are the future of la selecta. They need to make a name for themselves abroad to hopefully have a competitve NT.

i didnt think out what i wrote...but what am getting at as for aa is that he was fine in europe and if anything could have helped out potentially other young salvis to play abroad in europe, especially in portugal. as for derby...i think he was just wanting to get out of salvador...

im just sad about this whole mess...and i would want to see some of our sub20 wcplayers be abroad but seems to late now

Pena is in his early 20's, so at least he still has a chance to develop. Hopefully he can do this at Metapan, where he is now.

according to @FutbolNica Arturo rejected Diriangen's offer. i think they said he was being offered 15k per month. honestly tho don't get why people thought there was any chance of him going there. Diriangen was interested, not him. just a couple weeks ago he again mentioned his intentions are to play in mls -- http://www.podcastarena.com/soccermatters/ (around 18 minutes on the 2nd hour of the 12/28 episode is when he mentions this)

The issue again is who is going to take a chance on a 30 year old Salvadoran player? AA made a mistake he should have had a concrete offer before making leaving.

In reality he should have had an MLS team lined up. Also if they didn't need his services since the season was almost ending he could have been loaned out like some US players have in the EPL.

This looks worse now if the moves to Portugal or Spain were 100% fact.

15K per month sounds good for a consistent top scorer in the Salvadoran 2nd division to prove himself in 1st division Nicaraguan league. Then the player can hop over to another league if successful. A stand out in the U20 national team that's not getting any 1st division soccer minutes could prove himself too.

Exactly, dont underestimate Nicaragua football alot more clubs and the government have been investing alot. I worry due to elsalvador federation backward mentality we would be overtaken.

Nasl announced the Atlanta Silverbacks will cease operating for 2016. Junior posted a note on twitter thanking the fans and saying he's moving on. Any thoughts of where he could end up? I just hope he doesn't go to another nasl team
