You may or may not be doomed to not getting an MLS team in two years or may or may not be doomed into missing the MLS Playoffs instead.
IDK, it might be difficult to see with all those trophies in the way (4 MLS Cup, 4 SS, 3 USOC, 1 CONCACAF, 1 Interamerica Cup).
Nothing in 10 years except for the infamous Ben Olsen Double in 2013 -- winning both the USOC and the Wooden Spoon.
If 2021, wonder if we pick up quality guys in 2020 to hit the ground running Might be an interesting last USL year
USOC in 2013 is not nothing as you note. Forgive me, but I will always call BS on a DC fan whining about lack of success. Boo freaking hoo.
Well, this post is 5 years old (summer 2014) and betting against Sacramento has been a winner so far........... I'm jinxing this so that your wish may come true and if it does you owe me a beer!
Republic is in. Announcement coming soon. Probably not Monday as previously thought but it is coming.
So I thought Something Wonderful was supposed to happen today, on 916 day. Oh, well. Back to our regularly-scheduled Doom.

In that photo, Steinberg looks like a kid that finds his happy meal toy at the bottom of his bag of fries....he isn’t quite sure what it is, but it sure seemed fun getting to it.
I know it's my personal distaste for the man coming through, but has Darrell Steinberg ever taken any photo in his lifetime in which he does not look like an absolute tool?
Aw geez, not this shit again... Major League Soccer expansion: Sacramento to be awarded a franchise for 2022; announcement expected soon https://t.co/luyZoAzPYV— Roger Gonzalez (@RGonzalezCBS) September 19, 2019
From the article... Major League Soccer is set to add a fourth team to the state of California, and an announcement could come soon. Just weeks after awarding a franchise to the city of St. Louis, MLS is expected to do the same for the city of Sacramento, sources tell CBS Sports. A source said that an announcement was initially planned for this week but had to be pushed back. Sacramento will become the 29th franchise as commissioner Don Garber pushes for his goal of expanding the league to 30 teams, which was announced back in April. "It's 100 percent done. They would begin play in 2022," a source told CBS Sports. Of course, these things are fluid and can always get pushed back as we saw specifically with FC Cincinnati where it took several months, but Sacramento fans have reasons to be excited for what's set to come. Who wants to lay odds that this "source" is the same one that got Bizjak and Breton all hot and bothered a couple of weeks ago? There is only one thing in this world that is 100 percent done, and that is DOOOM.
