jesus, its time to bin twellman, hes becoming our Troy Aikman. Not even Sacramento wants to see that.
Oh, shit man would that suck ... I might be degenerate enough to take it. But that would suck. A lot.
best case scenario, Preciourt drops the ball at McKalla in Austin, Columbus not only stays, but opens up San Antonio who is already a prime candidate, and then sacramento gets in too Columbus, Sacramento, San Antonio, the super mega happy ending
that is my last south/east coaster soft spot but for me, gotta get Sac and San Antonio in 27 and 28. San Antonios got a special place for me because of getting outright bamboozled by the league, but also giving a couple high middle fingers to your neighbors up north for when the city council shuts their poorly conceived parking scheme down.
I still suspect that we get in at Miami's expense, not Columbus's. Yes, Miami's been announced, but it's still a trainwreck there.
A source with knowledge of the situation has told us conversations between Precourt and Sacramento have taken place. How serious the talks were are not known. #MLS #SaveTheCrew #MLS2ATX #MLS2SAC #SRFC #CrewSC— Uncle Sam's SoccerPod (@UncSamSoccerPod) June 6, 2018
https://www.bizjournals.com/sacrame...ic-surgeon-joins-sacramento-mls-investor.html we have a thing! its not completely the thing we want, but I guess a thing that helps the thing.
Great. We were fishing for a whale and we caught a sturgeon. Sometimes I think this boat's bridge is full of clownfish.
LOL my first post was going to be about a whale and a sturgeon, we must have ESPN or something. we need someone who is good at math! how many more sturgeon do we need to make a whale?! this could be the key here!
http://www.sacbee.com/news/local/news-columns-blogs/city-beat/article213123774.html 1) Burkle (preferred) 2) Omri Casspi + Meyer Orbach and Ezra Stark (real estate mogul's / focused) 3) Precourt w/ relocation of Columbus Crew -- Nagle is willing to put $125 mil into expansion fee. -- Very interesting stuff.. so that's the two whale groups.
Yeah, I'm cherry pickin quotes, but these text messages from Steinberg seem really desperate...... “Please don’t put Sacramento back in the larger pile,” he wrote to Garber. “We have earned a different consideration. I will deliver for MLS and Sacramento if you give me and us the chance.” And, Steinberg personally texted Burkle as recently as April 30, asking if there was “anything new on the MLS front?” Burkle did not respond to the text.
How exactly would this work? Doesn't Nagle and his group own the rail yards property? Would this be an arranged marriage of convenience? If you're Nagle would you build a stadium for another team to play in on your property? Where would the relocated Crew play? This just doesn't look like a good idea at all. Unless they add PSV to the Republic Group and the league transfers/sells the operating rights to the Crew to a local group in Columbus.
I am praying it doesn't. After seeing how Precourt did Columbus, I can't see him (or his holdings) ever earning my loyalty or my entertainment dollars. The shenanigans he pulled there would be repeated here as soon as revenues didn't meet his expectations. If I wanted to invest my time and emotion into something, only to have it threaten to leave for greener pastures, i'd be married again.
COO Gumbert interview -- talks highly of Burkle and confirms active negotiations w/ him. Also 1007676148090789888 is not a valid tweet id
