Ryan seem to be on his way to MLS ... Colorado Rapids, DC United and Los Angeles FC all seem to be interested in him, I guess manily because he won't count as a foreigner :

To be honest ... so far Ryan has been an ok average mid-table Superliga right back ... and the Superliga is not really that good at developing full-backs for export ....

Ryan did not move to MLS but scored the only goal for OB Odense when they got trashed 1-6 by league leaders FC København yesterday ...

    Extended highlights :

... or should I rather say that Ryan and OB almost single-handedly got beaten by the most talented player in the Danish Superliga, Robert Skov, who made a hattrick and an assist and now has managed to make 5 assists and score 21 goals in 21 games in the Superliga so far this season, playing as a right winger ... Skov is was also the 2nd most scoring of all players from all countries in the U-21 Euro-19 qualifiers behind the Polish striker Dawid Kownacki.

I have never before seen a winger as talented as Robert Skov in the Superliga and he is at least as good at set pieces (if not better) than Christian Eriksen, so a player to look out for in the near future. Here is also his two goals in the last FCK winter friendly 2-0 win against New York City 2 weeks ago :

He's still at Odense. Started today and had an assist. Odense are 3rd (a distant 3rd) in the Danish Superliga.

Ryan Laursen started and went the distance as Odense started their 2019 - 2020 season with a 3-2 home loss to FC Copenhagen.

Laursen picked up an assist in the first minute, and Odense led 2-0 after 31 minutes.

During 2018/2019, made 30 starts in the league registering 2 goals and 3 assists. He also had 3 appearances (2 starts) in the Danish Cup and scored a goal.

Went the distance in a 1-0 home win yesterday.

A nice run at 0:06 leads to him taking a shot. At 0:41 he has to scramble wide to unsuccessfully prevent a shot.

@TheFalseNine @bungadiri He is using Johnson as his last name on his jersey (Ryan Johnson Laursen is his legal name).

This bump had me thinking about Laursen and his career arc.

At this point, uncapped by Denmark as he prepares to turn 28 next month, it's hard to think he was a massive miss for the U.S. At the "prospect" stage of his career, he was still in the mix for Danish YNTs, and he may have reasonably figured he had a shot there. (Or maybe the U.S. was never interested? I dunno.)

But if he had come over, he might've had a chance to establish himself as a backup, at least, to Yedlin for a while, particularly given that his U.S. "generation" isn't particularly strong. Well, them's the breaks.

Wishing him the best of health.

Is it correct that he was never capped at the senior level for Denmark? (Not saying we should CAP HIM NOW but more just curious about his career arc.)
