Yeah, except for Jakob Poulsen, this was the under-21 team I think.

Till now, the only confirmed friendlies for Peru, are :

against Croatia 23 March in Miami
against Iceland 26 March in New Jersey

    https://depor.com/futbol-peruano/se...-croacia-e-islandia-seran-estadio-lleno-60059

They also expect to play a few friendly matches against other european teams as their coach (Gareca), only wants to face european teams in preparation for the WC.

The thing is that I look around and see almost all World Cup finalists end up with decent preparatory matches and, in our case, not only we aren't going to be playing the likes of Italy or Germany or Belgium or such that the Saudis have lined up, but we can't even get a supposed friendly with Peru confirmed!

For a team like Iran, Peru would have been a pretty good test. To be sure, if it was up to me, I would have tried to line up Italy, France, Turkey (which we are going to play), Tunisia/Algeria and Egypt. Or something along these lines.

Although Chile isn't going to play next WC, and only recently announced its new coach (Reinaldo Rueda), we have 3 confirmed friendly matches against 3 european teams which will take part in next WC.

24 March vs. Sweden, at the Friends Arena in Stockholm
date and venue still to be announced, but also in March vs. Denmark
8 of June vs. Poland, at the INEA Stadion in Poznan

Currently talks are taking place with both Japan and South Korea, for other possible friendly matches in proximity to the begining of next WC.

The Chile FA sacked Pizzi even though he won the Copa Centenario?

I am pleased with the lineup. We already played Argentina, so I don't see any point in playing more south American sides.

Personally we need to play sides which will defend against us in regards to Iceland.

The Czechs, Poland, and to some extent Serbia I am sure will sit back against us. We really need to play against disciplined European sides which will sit back against us and try to catch us off guard.

Both Argentina and Croatia will attack and I am sure we will get plenty of chances against them. I am concerned about being able to break down Iceland. This lineup should give us good prep.

We would've won Copa Centenario almost with any coach. All that Pizzi did there after the initial defeat, was to allow the team play the rest of the tournament as they were used to play while under Sampaoli, and Bielsa before him (in any case, I will not take away all credit from him, as he was always honest and really never promised anything when he asumed the job).

For the WC qualifiers though, he tried to do lots from his part, and ........well, you know how we did there........

Now we hired Reinaldo Rueda, for the 2022 process.

In any case, we didn't sack Pizzi, as he fully completed his contract (he was hired till the end of the 2018 WC process).

Iran's schedule is not fully fixed yet. Peru on March 18 is no longer being mentioned. Tunisia is possible, but they could be replaced by Senegal or Bosnia. The games scheduled for non-FIFA days will be to test fringe players for roster spots and most of them were initially supposed to be played behind closed doors.

Anyway, the latest news on Iran's friendly schedule is as follows:

    http://www.tehrantimes.com/news/420550/Iran-s-friendly-fixtures-announced

Team Melli will start their friendlies with a match against Libya on March 14 ... The warm-up match was originally scheduled to be played behind closed doors but the Iranian football federation announced the fans could attend the game.

...will play one of Tunisia, Senegal and Bosnia & Herzegovina teams on March 22 in Tehran and meet Algeria five days later in the same location...will face Uzbekistan on May 8 and meet one of Syria, Lebanon and Jordan teams three days later at the Azadi Stadium....On May 20, the Iranian national football team will play Turkey in Istanbul....meet as-yet unnamed team on May 28 in Tehran before leaving the country for their European training camp in Austria...Iran will face Greece in Austria on June. 2... one of Albania or Poland teams could replace Greece...Finally...will face a team who have qualified for the 2018 World Cup in Moscow on June 8.
